Hi, i love your photoes and would also like to learn more on streets photography.

To begin with, may i know what camera and the type of lens you are using? thanks

@Justintime: Thanks for the support, man! :)

@flyfox: I use a Nikon D300 with an 85mm f1.4 lens for the portraits.

@garyphoon: Really big thanks for the series of comments, bro :) and yes, I'm holding an umbrella for the rain shots :)

Hi guys, just want to share a new blog post on tips for street photography :)

I was recently interviewed by SlashMaraud, a blog based in Boston. One of the questions was “What are some unwritten rules of street photography according to Danny Santos?” Well, my answers were really more like tips than rules, and they’re not according to me but more like stuff that you will just learn eventually the longer you shoot. I decided to share my answers here and expand further. There are a lot more useful tips you can find online, but I believe these 5 tips is a good place to start with.

While I was taking portraits of these girls, fellow photography enthusiast whom I just met that day happened to take a behind-the-scenes shot. Big thanks to Paulo Legaspi for these :)

Hi Danny,

Guess this is my first few posts on CS, before i join this community, i was already finding passion on street photography and i luv taking protraits of ppl on the street when they are doing something on their own to bring out the natural look(candid) on them. I did got a nasty request of asking me to delete the pic i took of his kid and i apologize to the guy. I was down for a moment :cry: but everyday i will view your thread page after page and it gave me lots of inspiration.

Just wana say i like the compositions of your street pics :thumbsup: and it gave me ideas and encouragement. Keep up the good job and hope some day i wil meet you on the street.
*currently using 50mm and 55-250mm on the street*

Regards
Pixelnica :)

Thank you for the very kind words, bro :) I'm glad you like my shots. Regarding your experience, I would generally advice to not photograph children, I never do. It's understandable that parents would be protective of their kids.

If you really love capturing candids and bringing out the beauty in everyday people and everyday life, just keep shooting and you will eventually get a good collection of your own.

Oh and I also started with the same lens you're using (55-200mm and 50mm) :thumbsup:

Wow, the faces look so 'fresh'! Do u do any PP touchup or this is what comes out of the camera?
