hi guys, thanks for the reminders and replies

i got itchy fingers last night and decided to open up the SB-600, no shock so far bad news though coz there is some dirt within the boards and watermarks too. then i checked the bulb and there is no filament inside, so seems like busted bulb. i just have problems taking the bulb out from the board ;p the dirt doesn't seem to affect the functionality, LCD, menu, ready light still ok. my next problem is getting a bulb and putting the flash back together.

No shock so far, but you still need to discharge the capacitor and flash tube.
Don't desolder anything without discharging.
