Hi everyone. I just bought a Sandisk Extreme III 2.0Gb CF card at the IT Fair from the Vector Magnetics Booth. It was a great offer at $80 so I snapped it up.
When I opened the box, I noticed that the label containing the words "Extreme III" were not in gold as in the picture on the box, but rather in the regular silver color (similar to the Ultra II). You can see it in the picture below:
This seems in line with the description I found online on counterfeit sandisk cards in the market: http://reviews.ebay.com/FAKE-SanDisk-Extreme-Compact-Flash-Cards-Exposed_W0QQugidZ10000000001456539
Just wondering if anyone here knows anything about this, and if the card I bought was indeed a counterfeit, or simply a variation of an original card.
Thanks!
