Samples from F550 EXR is available

I am experiencing battery drain, just 2 days the battery inside the camera and it will go flat.

Original battery? Mine did not have this problem

Got mine at Parisilk HV at $459 with 8 GB SD card. My bad - I did not ask beforehand what is the capacity of the SD card! In the end, had to pay extra to top it up to 16 GB. Also, they tried to charge me $469 initially.

For those planning to getting one from there, remember to bargain and confirm everything in advance!

p.s. They tried to sell me the 3rd party battery but I refused. And they kept asking again and again - but I refused again and again!

is it becuase GPS set ON?

I read the manual, iirc, the GPS is by default still on even if you off the camera. There are settings to disable that.

There are three options.

1) GPS constant On.
2) GPS On when camera is On.
3) OFF

GPS Tracklog.
1) Tracklog On
2) Tracklog OFF.

I've switched On the GPS On when camera is On and tracklog Off.

Some photo sample.

Just bought this camera, so far no battery drain issues. However, the actual camera high ISO image is very noisy! dun get conned by their sample image!
Focusing speed is very fast! IS is very effective! IQ good up to 400 ISO only!

FinePix F550EXR / F505EXR Firmware Update Ver.1.10

Applicable model: FinePix F550EXR / F505EXR

•Detail of the update

The firmware update Ver.1.10 incorporates the following issues.
1. The power consumption has been improved, just for rarely observed cases. (Only F550EXR)

2. LCD display is much smoothly transferred into "USB" mode, after connecting the camera to the PC via USB cable. (just for some shooting condition only)

I do not have the battery drain problem. But while using the camera in Bali over the weekend the lens protective shutter was stuck and could not close properly! Tried on/off power many times and no effect. When switched on, the shutter could not open fully resulting in partially blocked pictures.

Had to manually push up the shutter with a paper tissue (to avoid fingerprint on lens). Fortunately, 3 hours of shooting later (and multiple times manipulating the shutter), the shutter managed to close fully, and has remained fully functional for the last 24 hours.

Hope it stays this way!

After two weeks and calling up the Fujifilm service centre, my F550EXR is still not yet ready for collection. ;(
