Is there anyone who work or worked before in a photography company full time and have a salary range (starting pay) to share? Want to have a gauge and considering doing full time.
The specialty include events, weddings and commercial as an assistant photographer.
No need hard numbers, just an estimate will do .Indirectly, this is a good guide ---> http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=230321
(if you want hard figures, doubt the serious ones are going to reveal the truth)
Hmmm, thats like kind of, outdated ...$650 a mth as assistance, and $1000 as full time, that was 10 yrs ago..

That was what I was asking about, the salary range for an Assistant ...If you intent to go full time, I suggest that you try applying for the post of an Assistant. Starting pay depending on size of studio and type of jobs they usually shoot for, should be about $1K to $1.3K

as for event shoot, can't help u. alot are doing for free. can hardly make a living out of it.
haha...that is true, I now shoot on most saturdays for free for some schools and Boys Brigade event, which otherwise they need to engage photographers from outside. Save lots of $$$ for these organisation. They now cut their photography budget from $10K a year to $800 a year just to cover transportation cost and meals allowance
one word, pathetic.
bad for the fotographers but good for these organisations.

I feel that it is a good way to contribute back to the society. Since they are not profit making firms, so why not help them? The pros should look for the big guys to earn their bucks. Have a friend who is a wedding photographer who is booked whole of 2008. He does 12 - 15 weddings a year, and monthly income is $5-6K! And he don't even know how to use the internet! He gets his business by word of mouth.
:bsmilie: bet u've not been offered S$100 for a full day's of event shoot by some MNC.:bsmilie:
anyway, nothing new, nothing fantastic.
once in awhile u'll get such proposition but then again, biz is biz. the fotographer still need to feed himself.
