What kind of metering did you guys use for your landscape shots? Matrix, Centre or Spot? What about White Balance setting? Was it set as Auto, manually set or set using the various colour temperatures? I can't seem to achieve the same ambience and colour rendition as WMC for instance for landscape shots. How do I make the skies more blue straight out of the camera? Thanks.

i think i was using either matrix or centre. recently i have been using matrix. before always centre. Its in AWB.

i didn't do much la.. it is as per what i see, except maybe u wanna inc the colors abit. other then that i think its more on exposure. i shoot in 'M' mode for landscapes and usually i underexpose by 1/2 to 1 stop

Thanks for the advice.

My kids' favourite. Everything set to automatic and colour rendition is sweet and picture is delightfully smooth even against harsh lighting. Very realistic reproduction of colours indeed. Still enjoying my S5 Pro. Cheers.

Wah! All power lenses you have there.
My guess.... 50 1.4

No lah. It is taken using Nikkor 16-85mm lens. Some say that it is an over-priced kit lens, but I think otherwise. The effective VR which is missing in most lenses, is very useful.

Can i borrow your lens? I swopped with my Tamron 17-50 f2.8 for 5 days. How abt that?

Bros and Sistas, for comparison, I have used various modes in taking the following pictures.

#1 - Taken using Standard mode, Centre Metering and Auto DR.

#2 - Taken using Standard mode, Spot Metering and Auto DR

#3 - Taken using Standard mode, Centre Metering and Auto DR (pic is darker compared to #2)

#4 - Taken using DR400% and Centre Metering (notice that colour saturation is increased visibly)

#5 - Taken using F2 mode and Centre Metering (notice that the colour is very saturated)

Yes, I noticed the same effect also.

This morning, I took a series of 3 shots +/- 1 EV from my kitchen window using 400% D-Range for the first time:

Looks unremarkable - that is, until I combined them into a HDR image:

Noticed the trees on the lower right corner are over-saturated, even for an HDRI. Even after decreasing the saturation to 50%, the image still looks a bit over the top for my liking.

I will run a few more tests to confirm this 'over-saturation' effect.

Carry on shooting Tachyon. Are your shots taken at Depot Road? The S5 Pro is capable of producing an ideal picture for every situation depending on your needs, if you know what I mean. We need to play around with it more often.
