Just want to clarify on whether can manual focus lenses use on this camera. Some people tell me can and some said cannot. Can owners of this camera model clarify? Thank you. ;)

Yes, you may use manual focus Ai, Ai-S, Ai-modified or Series E Nikkor lenses. ;)

Just got the S5 on Saturday...

Had a great time shooting 200++ pics...
went home, load into my 24 inch iMac, and saw 1 dead pics...
changed the lens and shoot again...
again the same issue...

Is dead pixel a common problem in DSLR?

Took it back to MS color today... now pending a swap....

sigh...

I am sorry to hear this.

(Touch wood) Mine so far no problem.

Thank you! Yeah getting it soon!....Maybe in July coz my D80 still quite new. :bsmilie:

If you are holding a D80 now, my advise to you is to sell it soon. Reason: the mid-range Nikon DSLRs don't hold their value very long. Just look at the resale prices of the D70/D70s and compare them to the D100 (which is a much older camera).

alamak if you scared resale price drop, from history s3pro is one of the worst cuz fujifilm slash prices quite heavily after a while. At least from the s3pro point of view.

Untii today, the S3 Pro still holds its resale value very well. Just look at cameras of similar era - the D70 and 300D. All of them suffer great losses.

I also noticed that currently an almost mint condition S2 Pro can fetch at least S$1,400.

cannot compare like this:nono:

yes, in terms of percentage drop, it drops quite a fair bit but how much can u lose in terms of absolute dollar value?

Quite a bit I must say. What I meant is the camera's ability to hold its resale value 2 or 3 years down the road.

It is a non-denial fact.

in terms of absolute dollar value, I would say u will lose more buying a high end body.

a D70 body bought 2-3 years ago at $1700 are selling around $500 in B&S, while a D2x bought around the same time at $7000(?) are selling around $4500 now.

s2pro for $1400? I am sure you meant s3pro.

BTW, the launch price for s3pro was $3.5k. So from $3.5k to $1.4k... it is a fair drop similar to the other manufacturers.

What I am saying is that fuji singapore is very active in bringing down the prices as time passes. The S3pro street price was slashed from 3.5k to 3k to 2.6k to 2.4k.... And throughout most of the s3pro history, the pricing in Singapore is VERY COMPETITIVE to overseas priceing. Kudos to fuji singapre.
Some manufacureres like canon are less responsive to the market pricing.

BTW, what is the current street price for brand new S3 Pro? Still can be found?:embrass:

Yap.... I am referring to S2 Pro indeed, and I know someone was selling his at this price (almost brand new, hardly use). A mint condition S3 Pro can fetch at least $1800.
