Just wanted to show a comparison how AWB isn't always what we should trust.
But what i like may not be what you like so yea.

does that mean you always use the color temperature mode for WB setting? Ya agreed with you I prefer the second pic but then again skin tone might out?

Well to be honest, i use AWB almost 90% of the time. Its only when i'm not satisfied then i set the white balance manually.
Because ambient light plays a big part in many photos. Personally i feel that AWB doesn't give the same ambient feel when you get different sort of lighting.
As for skin tones, it really depends. Personally i love warm photos. Sometimes when i forget to change back, the photos still look fine to me. So its personal choice.
I'll post more if i have in my album.

Happy VIewing :")

It is Tanglin Mall.

The bubbles come exact 7.30pm

A bit late for the show, but thought to show up nevertheless. Haven't been able to join any of the gatherings because I'm overseas. The good news however, is that the S5 Pro is still very much in active service. Considering I use it more than half the time alongside a Canon 1Ds, which is really my favorite of the two, does say quite a lot.

Took this one on the streets of Melbourne, Australia.

The sheer beauty of this camera is the DR which has allowed me to create colorful photos with beautiful tonality throughout even under the most contrasty lighting conditions. Occasionally people mention that they don't always use the camera in the widest DR mode because images sometimes come out looking 'flat'. I have never had such a problem, although I use the S5 Pro on the widest DR mode at all times. On some occasions I even abuse it to get even greater DR in images that require it. All in all, I'm very happy with this camera...a worthy tool indeed.

In the last photo, which was printed out by my friend, there was an unusual (but pleasant) glow to the skin. I was quite amazed to see it, almost a soft focus effect.

I will keep both the D300 and S5 Pro. I will use S5 Pro for potrait shots and when I need good colour and extensive dynamic range for my pictures. However, D300 is superior in focussing speed, continuous firing rate, focussing accuracy and picture sharpness. Hence, I will use D300 for sports and shooting moving objects (e.g. runners, hockey match and F1 racing). D300 is also superior when shooting under low light condition. S5 Pro is great in colour reproduction in general, especially skin tone. Just my opinion. I will never sell my S5 Pro.

I second that. I have the same setup as TheChef...Very nicely articulated.:thumbsup:
