Hi all. Which software do you use to convert RAW to JPEG? Also, anyone using third party battery? As you know, the original NP-150 is no longer in production. Any bad experiences?

bought one recently. yet to fully try it.

currently i have 2 originals as well

I just use jpeg straight lol... I'm lazy so i skip the whole post processing phase. But if i do have to convert, then its photoshop. Don't know about the 3rd party batt's thou. I went to a shop once and tried the nikon 3rd party batts cuz the guy said it would work. Didn't work at all. It kept showing low batt. So my solution is get a MB-D200 and use AA batt's. 4 gp2700 mah batts will only cost you like $19? So about $30 and you have one set of batts ready to go.

bro...u using MB-D200 with AA batteries? u sure it works? how come mine doesnt?

It works with NiMH batteries like Eneloop rechargeable batteries. You need to select battery type under the camera maintenance menu if I can remember correctly.

Still here... I remembered rushing to Parisilk after I touched down at the airport to collect my set! Heh...

Hey Sir!! Is that you? haha...studio shoot with at Studio Space?

Glad to know that you guys are still using S5 Pro and intend to use it for a long time, as you had bought 3 or 4 batteries. I have 3 original batteries. Just nice for a long day's shoot before going back to recharge. I am very impressed with the S5 Pro's display of skin colours. Nice skin colour even in incandescent light.

Yup definitely works... You just need to set the correct type of batteries in the menu. Once set, your good to go. But problem is the battery meter is not correct. So i always carry the original with me as a spare. My reason for this is that, i don't want to ruin my NP150 lol

I'm using Picasa to convert to jpg. may not be the best but it's free ;)

I could use one of those batt's... Sure would be more portable compared to 6AA's :)

Hey guys!

i've got a lobang for an S5 OEM Batt, Made in Japan.
Price estimated around $30 if there's more than 20 orders.
Would proceed in a NonProfit thread if there's a show of hands...

would be getting the pictures and infos later....

This should be quite hot... Thou it would be nice if anyone has ever given them a shot to tell us their experience with it.

Hehe, am a proud s5 owner too.

The shots that it can achieve with the correct skills in a dance concert the colours can be stunning (:

In any case, do any of you know where I can accquire a grip and corresponding OEM/3rd party battery for the S5?

Thanks !

Check B&S for the grip. As for the battery, Orient Photo is selling it for $35. Have not bought it because I am not sure about the quality.

Any updates for this and also for the gathering?

so sorry sir. been busy with work. i'm trying to get hold of the supplier and the pics of the battery, plus more info abt battery life.

Abt the gathering, let set Nov a date.. How about that? ;)

I feel that future upgrade wouldn't be easy. Because we will always want the photos to look like the S5. The S5 is a great camera no doubt about it. But it is also far behind in terms of technology.

Ah yes I'm sure thats bugging most S5 users. I know its gonna die soon, i know its gonna be replaced soon.. Just hoping a good contender comes up before anything happens lol

Watching how the new D3s comes with improved ISO and Dynamic range is interesting. Heres hoping new additions to the nikon family are what i'm looking for.

Has anyone experienced any adverse side effects of mixing a third-party battery with an original battery on the 3rd-party battery grip BP-D200 (Phottix) ?

Hope some of the more senior users can advise on this issue.

Thanks!
