i was wondering, said S$799 comes with 256MB card and 7 in 1 bag....what if i wanna exchange that free gift for a larger memory card, say 512Mb or 1GB, of course top up some money lah....is it worth while to do that, generally?

or from your experience, just take the free gift and buy a larger memory card separately?

No, you wun be able to exchange the free 256MB for a bigger memory card + top up as you have got to go to Canon at Harbour Front to collect all this goodies.

Also, there is still free training provided forth by Canon. You got to register online from Canon website:

End of the day, you still got to purchase a seperate bigger memory card.

suggest you just buy a larger memory card and use the 256MB as a backup. especially if you are using video on the S2, a 2.5 minute clip ate up my 512MB card completely!! :sweat:

Cant really recall the shutter used but its defintely due to the slow shutter speed that I've used.

Haha its the photographer, not the camera =p

aiyoh, just right click on the pic and check the properties->advanced. you'll get the full details of what aperture and shutter speed that you used.

definitely. I am recording in 640 pixels mode for sharper movies, that's why use up so fast. you record in 320 will last a lot longer, but be prepared for more pixellated video (VCD quality).

Got a quote for $768 nett at Canon. Doing a trade-in for my dead A70 (CCD and CF problem, repair not worth the price). Comes with the current free gifts (256mb and backpack).

Hey not a bad deal, a prosumer replaced for a consumer cam. Normally they replace with the A95.

If you really get the S2 IS, remember to get a 1GB SD card as well and use the 256 as a backup.

Just collected my S2 today. It came with the camera case too. Getting the 1 GB card tomorrow.

Any idea where can I get len hood for my old 52mm closeup lens ?

Highest settings about 100+ pics. Can continue using the sanyo 2500. Tripod?, Lens adapter/hood ($50)

woohoo! jus got my S2 from Alan Photo at $840 plus 256mb mem card and the cam bag with the blower, cleaning stuff and the tripod. Plus they gave a light blue canon backpack too, which is probably too obiang to use.

Waiting for tomorrow's fireworks to test it out! :lovegrin:
