Hi guys, understand that the canon S100 will be available for purchase at the coming IT show. Want to ask if any of you here has any experience on buying cameras and printers during the shows, and if you get a better discount for buying 2 or more items, or you still pay the original price for those items excluding the freebies?
Was thinking of getting a camera as well as a printer so I'm not sure if i'll get further discount at the show itself.

Once the show starts, take note of all the freebies, then walk into the reputable shops in Funan (even Harvey Norman nowadays) and buy the camera at a cheaper price and all the freebies included.

Most importantly, don't need to squeeze thru crowds and can la kopi in Ya Kun after that to slowly admire your new baby

Hi, I'm thinking of getting the S100, but I will be going to Japan soon. Does anybody think that it will be cheaper at Akihabara? Any tips on finding the cheap stuff? How does the warranty work?

The thing is I've compared the official Canon prices in Singapore and Japan, and Japan is much higher. So I suppose the street price in Japan will also be higher than in Singapore also? How?

I was at Tokyo last week. Quick answer, not cheaper. But I didn't go hunting high and low for the best deal. Maybe you'll have better luck.

Everything will be in Japanese though (camera menu, manual etc) Although I'm certain you can switch it to English. The electronic camera menu, of course.

Thanks for heads up. Just got one today at same price too following your leads. Their standard package states Kingston Class 10 card tho, so i didn't change that.

I got mine from the shop at AMK on 11/03/12, $630 with Lexar Class 6 8gb card and Brown leather case as well.

I got mine from Jakarta for about S$540 but it didn't come with SD card nor case.
Wondering if anyone knows where I can buy the case.

Just checked in KL and the black S100 is RM1400 (S$575) at most shops in Sunway Shopping centre. Comes with brown leather case confirmed but 8GB card depends on seller. Unfortunately I didn't get it thinking Spore would be cheaper and it' s too late to go back now as leaving in the morning... sigh. Note KLCC shops selling for RM1549
