Beautiful night shots you have there. Very well taken. Like the #2, the exposure is good.

nice pics, hope your family had an even nicer holiday...
mind sharing your settings? thanks.

Yes, we enjoy ourself even though it was raining once awhile through out our stay there..

For night photography I set the cam to manual mode and AV Mode to get the right exposure, ambient light etc.. And lastly a Tripod is a MUST.

Lovely use of tripod and a good cam. : )

Tks for viewing, really appreciate it.

Any of you have a customized settings which u usually use to shoot night shots?

By far this is BEST nightshot;

img1297pp2.jpg

Aperture=f3.2
Shutter=5sec
ISO=200
Tripod=yes

Notice the overexposure on the left side of the picture. I just cant take a beautiful night shot without obvious overexposed parts..

Hmmmm... :think:

HI, Since you have the luxury of a tripod, why not use the lowest ISO (IIRC, should be ISO80) and f8 (this will give you nice starburst effect from the lights).

Composition wise, I find that the boats are merged with the messy background, so they are not "standing" out. The Foreground is a big pool of uninteresting water, which takes up half the frame of the pic. Thats why I find the photo could be better with another angle.

Just my personal opinion based on my personal taste.:)

Hi lasboltnut,
Thank you for your critique. Will improve further.
With regards to the picture, its un-PP so I didnt manage to crop out the water pool. Its actually just to show the uneven exposure of lights taken with the S5. Kinda frustating actually
Thanks once again!

Can anyone advise how to take a better HDR image?

Hey, what software are you using for HDR? Also, how do you set up your camera?
