Hi all!

I'm new here. Thinking of getting either A650 IS, S5 or Panasonic FZ18. I read that the lens cap for S5 is pretty useless as it comes off easily. Is that true? Anyone can offer any comments with regard to the 3 models to make it easier for me to decide?

Thanks!

^ i had the expereience to use the A520 and it was awesome and it should be the similar version of A650 so its amazing!
Now, I own the S5 and its definitely worth the money spent
.

on the same note, i finally got to capture some decent moon pics

The software and menu setup is horrible, and it has a flakey focus system, I was hoping for more but after shooting the S3 for awhile the FZ18 just seemed slow at everything, Focus being the biggy.

yes the lens cap comes off easily, and thats a good thing sometimes, keeps one from jamming the lens.

I had a FZ18, has great zoom but thats about it, the movie mode on the S5 is awesome, and the focus works much better on the S5 in lower light conditions. The Panny Software is also cheesy and the menu system is setup so you have to drill down several layers to make changes.

Hope that helped.

Wow! S5 can shoot 2 moons:bsmilie:! Nice capture.....with the 432mm eqv lens, shooting moon is part of the joy.:)

I currenly own a S3 but think that it is quite limited indoors as lighting conditions is not good. I know that S5 has a hotshoe with it. Anyone used that before on a S5? I am thinking if S5 is good enough to take wedding photos......

advise from Canon lovers here???:)

Thanks

A few of My S3 pics, this was the very first day with a S3.
