Ok, got it! Actually there is no purpose or title for it, just trying out my S3. Will improve on it.

He is using the Canon 250D close up. The Raynox lens I use has a thiner DOF.

Sorry. What is DOF? Depth of Field? What does it mean by "thiner"?

Hey, a noob Q, with close up lens, do you shoot in macro mode or just full zoom from far?

Yah, Depth Of Field, which means if you focus an obj, how far behind and infront is also in focus. Think means shallow, means the distant between the 1st and the last obj in focus is short.

Ok, so for people like me, I think a deeper DOF would be better. You mean the Canon one will be "better" (meaning deeper) for me than the Radnox one? On Canon website, I only see the 500D not 250D. And you still need the Canon adapter to mount the close up lens?

It depends on how you want you pic to be...like sometimes, you want the background to be blur (to isolate the obj) then you will 1 2 adj to shallow DOF. If you want everything to be clear and sharp (like in scenary/landscape pic), u may 1 2 adj to deeper DOF....so there is no clear ans to which is better.:)

See here for Canon 250D:

How to take macro shots? Do I bring the lens very close to the object or stand far away and zoom in? I tried to use normal Macro and zoom in (within the allowable range) but found it very difficult to focus. The I used Super Macro and put the lens very close to the flower. Still very difficult to focus. Seems that when I get the picture focused, the focus goes haywire when I press the shutter. The following picture as good as I could get.

p.s. S3 default lens. No additions.

Handheld, P mode, super macro
