Look like you did not use a tripod...??

Night shot a tripod is the most essential item... you can take crystal sharp night pic with a tripod...

With Flash

Without Flash

Photoshopped using the non-flashed image.

Just got my S3 yesterday... this was my dinner
I'm a noob in photography...
1st attempt with this camera... so many setting i blur liao... haha

I have a tripod...but it was not so tall and I cannot use it to shoot the angle I want....so I tilt it and become a bipod.....and again, it is a travel tripod, so it is flimsy and it moves when I press on it.....:embrass: No choice loh.:)

Wow! Took a bite then take the pic ah?? But if I were you, I would show the side with the bite. I find the clock and the paper behind distracting.....and since you PS, y not take away the glare on the plate?

These are just my view, but I may not be able to achieve what I say.....:bsmilie:

Anyway you are just playing with the cam during you dinner. Enjoy! Both the dinner and the cam!

Shameless promo... haha...

Question... how to set the contrast? I photoshopped the above using auto-contrast and it turns out much better then original...

Together with the Auto Contrast option in the menu, there is a Brightness/Contrast option for manual adjustment.

I wouldn't use flash unless really necessary......the shadow is very sharp.:)

USe the timer to take the shot.. usually about 2-3 secs after you press the shutter..

Thats what i do when mounted on a tripod.. A tripod is also an impt item for photography.. there are alot of tripod light enough for travel and stable enough to take a shot.

Like slik sprint or slik pro 340DX All less than a KG which i am having now.

Good and light... compact enough for travel and most impt.. firm..

I know some people using tripod that weight about 2 kg..

Yah, timer. But what I meant was that I need to tilt my tripod (like only 2 legs on the floor) due to the limited height of my tripod cannot get the angle I want, so I have to hold on to the tripod with my hands. I press it down hoping to stabilise the tripod, but it deflects a little....I think it is due to this that caused the blur....

Any good tripods to recommend below $100? Already burning through my bonus, not much left... :embrass:

Try getting Slik Pro 330DX for $120.

Or the Slik Sprint for $85.

These pics were taken on Wed afternoon after I deal with tks for the S3 bag:

The venue is Capital Tower. Please give me your opinion....but seems like everybody are very busy lately.

A wine bottle taken at my room with low light source. Used ISO400 in macro mode, ends up noise found on the bottle. They have been removed, and increased the contrast of the label.
note: forgot the aperture and shutter speed were used. comment pls :)

hmm.. pardon me for being harsh. i juz wanna ask u, watz e purpose of tis shot? is it juz to try and practise wif ur S3? hmm.. but composition-wise, i find it alittle queer. e shadow is straight but e bottle is tilted.. is dat wat u intended to capture? i wld prefer e bottle be straight so dat e 'horizon' will be straight too.. e shadow on e right of e bottle is distractin. and oso, e flash is alittle too harsh.. set under auto mode?
juz my 2 cents worth..

Is that an ant mimic spider?

Think it would be better with a bit more foreground. I love the even green colour.

Turn the flash down a bit, the label of the bottle is a bit blown.

If you get the angle of the bottle, wall and camera right, you can have the shadow form a second 'bottle' next to the actual bottle. Another nice thing would be to capture only the shadow, using a seperate light source on the actual bottle.

Like NightZ88, what do you want us to see from this photo?
