Ok, I will normally meter somewhere near the sun, so that the clouds are a bit darker & the sun brighter. Do not point the camera at the sun! Also, you might want to try when the clouds are not so thick. Light fluffy clouds are good. Sunsets with a bit of horizon, with buildings.... so many ways of taking. Think most shots I have seen show a bit of the ground, maybe the bottom 1/3 only. Im not an expert at sunset shots though.nakedtoes said:Can anyone advice me how to take "sunset" photo shots??.. sometime i have really very nice sunsets.. but dun know how to capture.. this i captured today.. looks very blurr..

You can use filters. Or you can get effects like this without filters. All I did is a white balance change. The photos were taken about 1 min apart.lastboltnut said:Nice sun.....is it nicer if use filter?
cerebrus said:Nice one! The sun right behind the C-130.
Well, if you use an orange filter, you will get a slight orange cast to the more visible parts. There are also half filters, like what you mentioned.lastboltnut said:Yah, white balance.....but it applys to the whole pic. Some filter only the top part.
Yeah, snobs, the whole lot of them! :sticktong Hehehe!lastboltnut said:Yah, they dun reply........mostly they like pics with PS touch I think. Very high color contrast and outline type with fine details......high demand, less of point and shot without post processing. Just my feel.
hahaz.. thx. yeahz.. i agree. seldom get comments when post e pics. elsewhere.. v. disheartenin. btw, tis was taken wif cir-polarizer..cerebrus said:Nice one! The sun right behind the C-130.
hahaz.. wrong side. if sunrise gt parachuters den gd.. can take. but too early..lastboltnut said:If got parasuter better!
My personal liking: too bright.......
ooh.. u interested in nature shots? i like e unpredictability of snappin nature..nakedtoes said:I hope to learn more things too.. seldom takes those nature shot![]()
yeahz.. set to small aperture. muz make use of wat we haf.. since e colors ainT dere, muz use e brightness of e sun to create a star-burst effect to make it look nt dat ordinary..lastboltnut said:That why the "sun burst"?
A bit of lens flare. You might want to reduce you exposure a bit, get the hills and people to be a bit darker, also the sun will not be as glaring. I like the shadows cast by the people.nakedtoes said:a sunset photo i took at Redang

i find e flare nt too bad lehz.. wld haf been better if u took an angled shot.. e flare wld be at e side. e main thin for me is e distractin white clouds above e trees.. and another, e sun looks alittle blown out.nakedtoes said:a sunset photo i took at Redang
