Hey guys, crash the thread a lil'. I'm an S1 user and it has served me well underwater for macro shots. Little shrimps and pygmy seahorses are captured brilliantly; too bad I haven't earned the priviledge of posting attachments here yet.

Not sure if this question's been answered before: Did Canon manufacture a marine case for S3 too? I remember they didn't do so for S2... :dunno:

Not sure of that but if they did, it should also fit the S2. I hope.

There is as yet no marine case for the S2 and S3. I also had the S1 and marine case. Sold both away.

I am not sure if there is a way to post attachments. I still can't. So, as suggested by someone, I post to www.photobucket.com and link from there. It works.

Never mind, just post more lor. Exchange ideas and contribute pics and lobangs if any.

Damn! They did it again :( Been counting on a manufacturer's marine case for this latest S3 (much cheaper!). Guess they're letting Ikelite have a slice of the pie - Ikelite produced an underwater housing for S2 some time after the camera entered the market. Cost an arm and a leg!

Since NightZ88 demands pics, I shall recycle some of my old ones.

This is a favourite past time of many loooong zoooom owners, taking photos of the moon. Quite surprised that no one has posted stuff like this yet.

I prefer partial moon. Most of my full moon shots do not look that good. I jsut like the curve as the moon fades to black.

Hehehe! Well, need to keep the S1/S2/S3 Pics on topic.

Forgot to add, I cropped the moon shots a bit.

Settings:
A clear night, with a nice big moon to shoot :)
Tripod
Full manual mode
Set focus to infinity
White Balance: Daylight (I think)
Zoom to max, then digital zoom just a bit
f4.0 (Seems to be sharpest for this lens)
Take a few exposures, from 1/20 all the way to 1/250 (No need long exposures as you are shooting reflected sunlight)
Merge in PS HDR
You can USM to your liking. I did not do any noise reduction.

You might have to adjust the tripod, as the moon will move.
