hmm the lens will be around 10cm. so just zoom in to make your subject bigger. as for the flash you can follow this http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=228958&highlight=home+made+diffuser or http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=228958&highlight=home+made+diffuser

orh..

anyone knows how to set the wb or the colour like the foilage mode? the green becomes more saturated and much nicer..than the free controls mode eg.manual P, AV TV

You can control colour saturation in those modes. Go to the function that lets you control sharpness etc. There is an option there for Red/Green/Blue saturation.

do you know what settings the foilage mode usees or can you recommend which setting shud i set for shooting skies and greenary.
thx

For nice sky, think you should use Circular Polariser (CPL) filter.....For saturation, there is one colour setting, called vivid setting iirc.:)

Hi happyflic,

Thank you for liking my work. you made my day. i am using a raynox Dcr-250 which u can get it from www.mcgill.com.sg for ard $105. and also, when taking marco you will need to have flash no matter how is the lighting condition as it will bring out the life of the eyes. taking insect need alot of patience as they come out mostly early in the morning. when reaching noon time all have gone home. maybe evening also can as they will come out again.

what camera you using?

Hi, thanks for the info. I wonder if getting a raynox lens should we also have the raynox adaptors too?
I'm a S3 new user... :D
Still playing around and practising with my new camera.
Found out ur WC and Macro very nice pic taken.. wonder should i get one too. lol....
Thanks for sharing.

Have a nice day.

Does not need to be raynox adaptor but you will need an adaptor. Most of the CS members seem to have preference of the raynox one or Lensmate one (which are metal) over the orginal Canon one (which is plastic). I personally got the lensmate one and like the finish and quality of this adaptor. For these 3rd party adaptors, you will need to decide whether to get a 52mm or 58mm version. This is where it gets a bit tricky. If you only plan to have the DCR250 for macro, either one will do. The DCR250 comes with a springloaded catch design that you can clip onto either of these adaptors. However, if you intend to get filters, wide angle lens etc, the diameter for the adaptor will decide which filters and other stuff you will need to get as these are normally fixed diameter design (unless you want to have to get stepup/stepdown rings). I decided on the 52mm one cos of the raynox 0.66 wide angle lens that I also bought (which is supposed to be more optimal with the Lensmate 52mm adaptor.) You can read a little about that here (but be warned... it is a very slippery slope down the BBB virus road...try to go slow and try things one at a time and not buy buy buy): http://www.lensmateonline.com/newsite/S2.html

I have agree on what boogle has said. if you want a adapter, you shold look into wat lens converter you need in future. unless you are getting the wide angle lens from Raynox, then you get a raynox 52mm adaptor. if not you can go for those cheaper compatible wide angle lens converter. but however you must bring your camera and test it out so that it wont give you a dark corners in your picts. by the way, what is WC... sorry new to photography.

I think it means Wide Converter or Wide angle Converter if I'm not wrong.

;) Ya is mean wide converter, sorry because i'm also new for all terms still at learning stage.

You are welcome. Actualli its not a difficult thing to shoot insect. for me the picts you see may be onli the 4th or 5th attempts and theres more to be improve... and taking those picts onli take me less than a month and i believe i can see your master piece soon.
