So much exposed that all details are gone. Good try though, but sorry, definitely not my taste.
Well my purpose of this is to remove details resulting in a cleaner image ...

Maybe its the bit of colour left over that made it not appealing?

doesn't mean lesser shadows/overexposure = cleaner image

for example #1, the 'high key' treatment makes the face merge into the background around the chin area, the nose has merged into the face also. the skin folds at the neck area become rather apparent, and not forgetting the stray hair strands (yup, messy hair becomes apparent too)

it's like removing desirable details and emphasising unimportant/unwanted details.

;p Oops didn't pp that away ... Hmmm, will try harder nxt time :)

maybe you want to reserve post processing for enhancing pictures instead of 'correcting' pictures. if the method is producing too many 'problems' requiring solution from post processing, maybe you want to reconsider the method.

Good try pal... Maybe u can take model with background.
At least u got some details.
My 2cent comment...

Hi there,
sorry to ask why did you do it on purpose. Please explain.it seen like to much light:embrass:

i assume u had the good copy right?
the poses by the ladies are lovely....prefer to see the 'ok' version f u had it
From the look of it, i dont think the overexpo was done purposely postphoto ...... i think the originals were already over-exposed, due probably to wrong metering/iso ... i'll bet my last 2 cents on it. :dunno: (wanna bet?)

but then if you think like that, then no need to show others already right?:bsmilie:

no harm showing mah. at least can find out who see it the same way you do :bsmilie:

Yes the originals are overexposed. On purpose ... I even had some shot at ISO 1600 just to overexpose the image ...

Well, its the effect I'm trying to get ... Seen better examples on magazines and books and elsewhere though :).

Those had too much light too, but done nicely :).

Er...personally I don't think by increasing the brightness and contrast will result in a cleaner image. Too much details will be washed clean too.

Just my personal preference. I'm sure there are lots of them out here who will like your pics.

Hey good try yilishengxian. I understand the effect you are going after, they are those clean blur images where u normally see in manga or cosplay shots rite?

For me, i will try to take slightly over exposed images, and later use PS to archive the clean and blurry look. At least during the post processing, i have the choice to select which details to keep.

All in all, good effort.

cheers! =)

ouch i'm blinded..viewing this thread in a dark room..rofl...

try softening the images?

Can you kindly explain what has using ISO at 1600 got to do with overexposing?

I believe what you are probably trying to achieve the effect where the background's generally bright but with a constrasty look for the face or body. Example: http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=213917

This series looks like it is adjusted using just the brightness setting.
I believe there are many fundamental differences between the 2 different series of work. Like how 1 is done via postprocessing, another is basically intentional wrong setting of the camera..

Don't worry, he always says something (of course, will try to absorb only his useful comments) ... I'm already ready for it when I decided to post these :) ...

steady ! this is what i call guts and courage...

Coz few of the shots were taken is a sheltered area ... I cant get it to overexpose at lower iso at the location ...

I've actually seen examples of non blurry images :). Hmmm, I gotta go and look for those examples again and study them more ...

Felt sorry for yr eyes. Does softening the images reduce the amount of light they produce?
