[Rumors] 3 Different Pens and Super Fast AF

Ho hum. I just hope the new stuff isn't as fast as the 14-35mm f2.0. That lens has the 'best' AF I've seen.

14-35mm f2.0 best AF? You sure? I thought the 12-60mm has the best AF.

U obv dun get his sarcasm... :-)

Normally would be the case, but based on what I know for the PENs, is that its difficult to judge when and how much stock will be in Singapore if there is a world wide shortage

So is any place taking pre-orders for the 12mm yet? I suspect this lens is going to be a blinder and potentially more popular and in-demand than the 20mm....

The 12mm is a strange choice of lens to produce.

They already have the 9-18mm lens and that is one portable and stellar lens.

9-18 isn't fast, that's the main issue, alongside quality, since 9-18 is a SG whereas the 12mm is rumored to be a HG lens

The other thing also is the need for a fast wide angle for video work! The 9-18 is stellar but there certainly is a need for a wide AND fast lens. 4/3s satisfied that criteria with the 12-60 zoom and m4/3s was sorely lacking in it till now.

It is a lot easier to design a prime lens for a fixed focal length and make it fast.

Either way, it is a niche lens. 24mm is great though for a mix of architecture and street.

I just wonder, how do you think they will design a zoom lens for a fixed focal length?

???

Indeed! I'm liking the reports that you simply pull the lens to switch to manual focus mode, very nifty!

It has always been like that hasn't it?

Don't think so, seems that the report is implying the design is completely different from anything else to date

another day to go. hope EP3 and 12mm will hit the store as quick , so to grab one.
HG lens

The rumors site says the 12mm has a distance scale so is it still focus by wire? I will buy a pen back if it's not focus by wire.

as long as it can af.. accurately...i happy liao..

The 12-60 has a distance scale, but its not focus by wire
