I actually like focus by wire more than I do mechanical focusing

i dont think the 12mm is focus by wire, at least not how it is being described.

i think the distance scale mentioned is not like the automatic one in the 12-60mm, but merely a guide scale like the OM lenses

If the lens does not have a focus by wire, the internal mechanical complexity will be high, and I highly doubt the Af will be that fast.

Which is more plausible. Can anyone seriously believe that the focusing is as fast as they claim if they didn't use piezo-electric elements for the focusing? No way they could do that with all mechanical, and then you'd have to worry your lens mechanics would wear out within a few years. :bsmilie:
