i got rather used to 20d's loudspeaker-like shutter... now when i try other SLRs... they make me feel uneasy... haha... as if the shutter was lagging... i guess i m in :heart: wif 20d... dun think the improvements will be significant la... juz little improvements here and there

Yeah, I felt that 5D price is a little too much of a premimum to pay.

All prices sure will drop loh... it's a matter of how much and how fast. If sg drop, HK and Jap price will also drop mah.

It's already widely rumoured that canon is due to releasing/announcing new body coming Feb and 1Dxxx is replacement is due this Sep in tendem wif 2 BIG photographic events.

that's why I'm :think: at mid year release as stocks are usually available within weeks after announcements.

Actually, its unnecessary for 20D user to upgrade to the coming model. 20D is a very good camera, its already an overkill for most genre of photography. Unless you upgrade to a Full frame, then I believe you can see the difference in your photos.

You may be right but how many 20d users are actually Professionals that earn a living from photography. Most of them are concerned about depreciation values. So they will sell first at beter prices than selling at cheaper prices later on. As you can see, most of them are asking for $1,900 and above. Do you think that they can sell at this price once the new model hit our shore at ~ $3,000? :think: That's life of owning digital cameras unless you are real Pro who may see no need in upgrading to newer models.

That's why this is a wrong perception. As long as the camera is not spoilt, still can take picture, then use it until its spoilt. Like that more worth the value of the camera.

If keep upgrading for the sake of the value, you'll waste more money. And benefit people who look for bargain.

I dun think Pros will change for the sake of changing, hobbyist should be more careful with their budget and enjoy photography as it is. Got money to spend, buy better lens or print your photos in 10Rs, more worth it, right? Technology got no value one. I think this kind of trend will only benefit the bargain hunter.

Just an advice lah. For 20D users, keep using 20D, dun think the new model got any major upgrade, not worth the $$. For people looking for new camera, then this will be a worthwhile buy, because no point buying a new 20D liao.

Hope this will educate these people.
