ZC , maybe to let yourself feel better , just think like this , the world is not full of little angel. Dun be so reactive everytime people starts slamming you, always try to think from another POV . Half a glass of water is either half-full or half-empty. Ponder upon it. As I mention in a previous thread , it takes 2 hands to clap .

I guess I have to now, PoohBear. I was introduced to ClubSnap by a friend telling me that there are so many nice people around and they give good comments. So I joined in with this mindset fixed because this is a rather close friend of mine.

But afterall these, I have to alter that mindset already. Thanks for your comment, PoohBear. I hope you don't feel I am targeting at you. It is never my intention to do so.

They are indeed many nice people who dun mind sharing a few pointers. Like I said before , I do admire your urge to learn , but take it slowly and ReadThe*beep*Manual (RT*M for short) . Take ALL comments with an open heart, and you could be a master of your own one day. One more thing , if you've got cash to spare , go down to Riceball there and grab a few books on posing and portraiture . Mr Zhong have plenty of portraiture related books in stock. Alternatively , go to the library , you will be amazed on the variety of photography related books.

may i say this?
all online forums r made out of ppl.
ppl change, attitudes change.

therefore we cannot assume that this or that particular forum is friendly, etc....
everybody has a different character & attitude, so the approach to replies will be different.

also, when we post pictures, we r showing them to ask for comments.
comments can come in a -ve or +ve manner.
So if we post, we must be prepared to take the comment regardless of it being good or bad.

my puny 2cents.

Thanks Marc. I will change that mindset from now. I was hoping to be friendly. No problem. I am viewing this thing in another perspective now. Thanks for the pointer. :)

Zeckson, I have observed your threads/postings since you join CS. I am honestly a relative newbie, having taken up photography about 4 years ago.

Your knowledge of using equipment and flash, etc has exceeded my knowledge by a large degree. And from the comments in this thread, most people are more knowledgeable than me. So I have no advice to give you regarding the use of flash, EV, and post-processing etc.

I am writing now to make a suggestion. Perhaps you might want to consider learning to see light and make use of available light for your people photographs. Beautiful images can be made without any flash or fill in. Shadows are beautiful and give atmosphere to otherwise bland "perfectly exposed" images.

I had given these links before. Maybe you can take a look at the images. I believe most. if not all, of them are made without any flash.

As for myself, I almost do not ever use flash on outdoor photography (well, occasionally "fill flash"" for foregrounnd) except when making photographs of people with sun behind them, and then only when I use color films.

That one was OT and unconstructive. Thus I`m removing it and it comes with an official apology.

That's correct. My post processing skills are very amateurish. Inconsistent of gamma, contrast, saturation and white balance. Thanks for your comments.

Will get better as you practise more. Scour around in the net, not neccessary CS alone. Explore, develop, excel.

Most importantly shoot more, look at other pple's shot and realies what mistakes made
...and lastly get less touchy on equipment talks, it won't get you anywhere...

Cheers~
