I'm sure all owner of 2.8 always had a problem with finding cheap and practical lens cap.
For me, the lens hood is always attach to the taking lens, a piece of high density foam cut to the lens hood shape serves as the lens cap. On 1 side of the foam, use a folded gaffer tape to act as the handling for the foam.
For the viewing lens, partially cut a 46mm bino lens cap (Seng Cheong has it, just got 1 piece today). All 2.8 owners will know that you can't put on a lens cap and at the same time the lens hood, so this cut is mandatory.
So, with this DIY, no worries about lens scratches while you are trying to focus on the shoot.
