ridiculous replacement part cost

WAH! Time to bang Steven's table then!

I had always found him very reasonable, in fact sometimes "small things" he did for me for free. I used to go to another service person, but feel much more comfortable with Steven and have been "loyal" to him since then.

Hmmmm.... wonder how come he also like that. Is it another case of, like Fuji, also a "mis-communication"? This rubber thing is getting complicated.

BTW: ProteonEXR above posted a link, can buy the Nikon D200 rubber for only about US$25 plus postage. So no way any of us should pay $165 + GST or $180 or whatever. Thanks, too, ProteonEXR.

yup.. my first encounter with steven was pretty decent after that it was quite downhill. a few friends experienced the same as well. we have all since stop using his services. actually its very subjective as well.. =)

if we were to pay us $25 maybe going fuji to get it done for $80 sounds better.:bsmilie:

Yeah, maybe subjective. I must count myself lucky, have good relations with Steven for five years or longer already. Maybe because I older, he dares not try to bully me, ha ha.

Now... how to bang his table without spoiling those good relations :-??

hip hip...hooray!!

hip hip....hooray!!

hi hip....hooray!!!!!

So...the price is final? so if we ask for quotation, the price i like what's been mentioned?

Wondering if this part replacement is covered under warranty? My grip seems to be shifting..;)

I went to FSC. Almost got chop head.

Recept claims labour charges $90 + rubber is $80 so total $170. I insisted she call Mr Tan whom i have spoke to previously as i was there at 6pm and most have left. Well, he confirmed there is a mis-communication and it should be $80.

Anyways, after which i enquired if general servicing for the insides be done. will cleaning to done? she flatly said pay. isn't it a norm to do some general cleaning after dismantling the camera?

Anyway, it left a sour taste in my mouth. If i had to actually pay the $90 labour cost i will not get it fix and it probably be my LAST fujifilm camera. Over priced pricing if you compare to other leading brands. It's time fuji look at us as their loyal customers or risk losing us. I have no qualms ditching all my fujis.

Hope it comes out well. sent in already and had to pay $10.70. btw they will quote you pricing without GST etc .. Tell me who does it that way apart from SLS!!!

It seems all the other staffs are ready to 'tok' you...
lucky still got a lone Mr Tan to save us ...
time to wake up fuji. look at how overpriced your services are.
edit: OTOH I understand perfectly your frustration :) . That's what got me really boiling when I spoke to them on the phone and they were bloody sure it's 170 :)

Ya, I am glad that Mr Tan is in Fuji. He is very helpful and merciful as compared to others although he look very stressed especially with the white hairs . And like what you mentioned, he seems rather lonely there. Often saw him walk all the way to Little Road (my office there) under the hot sun to buy back lunchboxes alone.

The "she" you refering to in your post should be the Chinese lady near the window, right? No luck for you to encounter her. You should try exchange the number ticket with other customer beside you and wait for the malay lady. I did it before. :bsmilie:

Yes. It seems they are very not informed about changes. Mr Tan indeed sounds like a nice guy. I haven't met him in person yet as when i reach he and a few guys have left. no Malay recep only the chinese lady. Anyway, turnover is 5-7days to change the grip and general maintenance is this consider long? From my understanding others even can provide on the spot collection. Maybe FCS has much less technicians thats why. Nevertheless i am hoping to see a "brand new" s5pro again. Don't disappoint me and the rest of us Fujifilm users
