Guys, while the JPEG vivid settings were really good, I did find it a tad too saturated yesterday when we took the sunrise. Do you find that too? And 1 more thing, it's harder to "rescue" some of the highlights?

Did you shoot raw?

Highlights was ok, i actually increase the saturation and reds, personal preference ;p

bought a 2nd hand A12 50mm, and realised there is one dust. OMG....never could imagine dust could go into module.
please advise what I can do ? send to service center ? heard that ricoh service center is one of the "not so good" and best avoid.

Under warranty? Might take time, they had to send back to HK for my VF2 took almost 3 weeks.

We should have another one again, your VF 1.3x & 2x was brought up :)
Sanfong didn't turn up as well, though I saw the CV 12 on sale...

I din managed to woke up cos the night before i drink until quite late.

Ya I'm selling off CV 12mm cos decided to invest on Bessa R4 first and using 12mm required to use OVF which is price too high.

Btw during the gathering I wanted to find out, the battery for Fujifilm X100 and GXR are the same, anyone know which is cheaper?

Quick edit, just found out that GXR RAW files is the same if you bracket shots, so 3 shots with diff exposure all the DNG are having the same Exposure value :(
-just found out this is because of the auto setting, turn it off then you will be fine-

Thanks for organizing the gathering guys, looking forward for the next one

What do you mean by auto setting?

When you open your DNG files in adobe, they automatically do their automatic adjustment, so you need to turn it off so the option turns to custom (ctrl + U)

Can you control this auto adjustment? Preferably, I would like to keep the colors.

my best suggestion is to turn off the auto and make manual adjustment, or you also can try using the auto mode and adjusting the EV

Went to shoot sunrise yesterday too but missed the pre-dawn hours, here are some shots using the GXR + S10 to share.

Oic, next time sure got chance. Not sure about battery as I use 3rd party from SLRR, $7. Have fun with Bessa!

Just seen your wordpress, nice shots at Semporna!

I'm using the same 3rd party battery, for some of the fuji cameras they uses the same battery, like my long lasting F31. Can interchange all batteries for F31 & GXR. SFSG(So far so good). :)

Hi,

Good to meet you guys in person. First time joining such session. Interesting. When I reached there, everybody were already busy shooting. So I set it quickly and shot. In the process forget to set the aperture properly (still at max) and focus not at infinity. Didn't attempt to focus as everything were still dark. Thanks to Wong who came over and reminded me. So photo taken earlier are not sharp.

Overall not that impressed with those I taken. Pick one better one to share. Processed lightly in LR.

Thanks!

Ya, I did ... luckily. My sunrise shot is edited with the raw files instead.

Highlights was ok, i actually increase the saturation and reds, personal preference ;p

I also want my reds, orange to come up, just not at the expense of the blue/green becoming unnatural? I guess trade offs ...

Des, I missed the Pentax meet. If we have a next ricoh meet, let's just make sure they don't clash. ;-)

The sad thing is that in Singapore, it is rather hard to find spots where one could do wide angle landscape and telephoto landscapes by the multitude. Not enough flat open land. :(
