hihi..

after reading this whole thread on GXR, i'm interested to get GXR as my first "system" camera. However, I need to find out the prices before I went hunting for the equipment. What are the price range for the GXR body, GR Lens (both 28mm and 50mm) and VF-2? Any shop to recommend?

Thanks! :)

I got my stuff from SLRR and TK, price ranges from $800+ to $1200+, there are various kits to choose from, depending on your needs. :)

Vf2 is ard 250-280 in funan.

im thinking of getting the A12 50mm and S10.

Bought the NIK software for B&W processing. Was playing with some of the features. Quite interesting. Rather easy in creating some areas of color in a B&W photo. First time trying this. Have not tried in LR or PS.

Had some great fun with GXR and some lenses, very impressed with the output and colors and sharpness. One thing i realize recently when trying long exposure in A mode was that the metering is limited at 1sec not longer. So had to trial and error on S and M mode. Found this thread that discussed this in length, but not really conclusive...Ricoh GXR + Ricoh A12 M-Mount adapter... [Page 1]: Ricoh Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

Nice shots  same observation on A mode here, hope it will be resolved in the next firmware update. At the moment have to use the exposure meter in M mode to gauge proper exposure.

Thanks! Hope they admit that's a bug, from the thread doesn't seem so.

I read someone saying that 16MP sensor version of M-module will be available in coming Jan/Feb:

Still no love for the Ricoh GXR? - FM Forums

Not sure if I am happy or sad with the news  Should be happy because having the same 5N 16MP sensor on GXR should be the dream configuration for me. ;p But I just bought the M-module.... :(

Another link from the same forum by same person who posted the "news":

Hello
I believe it is a 16MP Zoom module, nothing about an M-module out in that time.
According to their "road map" ----> GXR / Digital Cameras | Ricoh Global
So you can still enjoy your brand new M-module as brand new :)

According to the article on mirrorlessrumors.com, it seems like there will be a A16 m-mount module. But it is still a rumor until it becomes more concrete. Looks like i'm going to wait for the 16mp one... lol

huh, first the A12 is affect by thailand floods, now rumors of A16 M? let's see the rumors first...meanwhile i enjoy the A12:) just hope they have a new body with tilt screen and a higher res evf or one integrated...

not sure GXR, but A12 M or maybe components is, my GXR or A12M not show where it's made.

According to ricoh website

Notification / Digital Cameras | Ricoh Global

" We would like to send our heartfelt condolences to those affected by the flooding in Thailand.

Since Ricoh does not produce digital cameras in Thailand, the recent flooding has not directly damaged our manufacturing bases. However, production of some parts has been halted at manufacturers we outsource production to and at suppliers. The effects of that production halt are thus starting to be seen in supply of parts.

A lack of parts has already occurred for some products (GXR MOUNT A12), and effects could be expected to expand to other products, depending on future circumstances.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to customers and ask for your understanding. Investigations on the situation and its severity will continue, and we are working to minimize effects to our customers.
"

A16 zoom haven't seen news of the AA filter or not. A16M still a rumor though, but the rumor is no AA filter.
SSS, BBB!:bsmilie:

May be the 12megapixel sensor is under the water. Sony rebuild its factory and only concentrate on the newer 16mp.
Hence A12M no longer in production and has to use the newer sensor.

If they can breakthrough the processing techonology to avoid moire effect without AA filter and it sold like hot cake, there is no reason why other module could not incorporate this. Ultimately, lack of one part of accessories (AA filter) it reduce the cost and assembly process.. No ?

Brothers, I just got delivery of my Biogon C 35/2.8, played with it on a 5N and absolutely loved the MF. Just reminds me of the good old days with my Contax and RD1. I am seriously gonna get the GXR, just not sure if the rumors of the 16MP module is true.
