Just got my paws on a GXR with M mount from a buddy.

Saw that Ricoh recently released a GR3-X with a 40mm equivalent lens all the reviewers are saying is as close to retro as we can get. Quite puzzled since I thought the default lens for film cameras were typically 50mm?
