Ricoh GR

try to shoot in Effect Mode - Positive Film. The colour really look alike scans from film.
Can show samples how it looks like?
Also, can post process the effects in-camera?
Since RAW file is DNG, can the cam post process any DNG file not taken by it?

once you select the effect mode, the pic is in JPEG format. You can however, take a RAW+ JPEG.
GR also has a in camera process features. You can take a RAW file and then apply the effect in camera.

I convert a Fuji Raw file into DNG. Can the GR then post process this DNG file in-camera?

Some shots from the streets this evening.
So far, its a very light camera, I would prefer a neck strap to the wrist strap, as I can be more flexible on how hold/ sling the camera.
AF isn't as quick as the OMD, however this has been expected.
Snap focus takes a little practice.

Here are some street shots i gathered:

Have you received this? How is the performance? :)

No yet..
Cause it's only about a week..

Expected 2 weeks..

No high hopes for it.. Like one of the bros said it is probably made of plastic..

One thing I dun quite like about GR..
The eyelet for wrist strap is abit too small for my Gordy wrist strap..

:)

Seems like GR selling like hotcakes at TK. A friend's friend of mine bought it this afternoon, and when i got my grdiv, another guy was fixing it up in the shop. Those interested better make a quick trip down...

Left one more set at TKfoto..

Those who have prior experiences with GRD 1 - 4, do you feel any specific differences using the GR versus the GRD? IF so, let's share the experiences here?

I personally felt the menu's simplified now. The effects button was really useful too which the GRD doesn't have.

I would love to find out if NR can really be totally taken off and recorded for RAW only when shooting on a tripod.

NR can be set off, auto or manual. in manual mode, it can be set low, mid, high according to your ISO preference.
For example weak NR from ISO800 onwards, mid NR from ISO1600 onwards, and strong NR from ISO6400 onwards.

Think Bernard meant noise reduction for long exposure rather than noise filter. Not sure the exact terminology used by Ricoh.

Ya... I know this isn't the camera for landscapes. But I will really appreciate this camera being a do all for me for trips where I really don't want to carry anything more than just the wide angle adapter.

So NR totally off during long exposure shot meant that if I take a 30s exposure, I don't have to wait another 30s before the next shot. Ricoh GXR users should also know that NR cannot be totally taken out, even if you choose NR off, and you are only taking RAW. So I really hope Pentax rub off on Ricoh on this particular area. ;-)

I'll possibly try this this evening! ;-)
