Ricoh GR Digital IV

Hey fellow GRD IV users, I got myself one few months back and I really like it. However I have problems taking photos in the dark. For example, in the SEA Aquarium, when I try to take pictures of people they will turn out blurry. It's also hard to focus in the airplane. I came from an S90 and it didn't have any of those problems. All of my photos are taken in auto. Are there any reasons why the S90 performs much better than the GRD IV? Pardon my ignorance :D

do you have any pics with the exif intact to post so that we can see the settings? initial thoughts will be that shutter speed too slow given that SEA Aquarium is relatively dark so shutter speed on auto could be relatively slow..

for the airplane..are the lights on or off?

i find the GRIV focusing to be quite fast..so not very sure why it is hard to focus in the planes

Maybe what he meant was trying to focus for the scenery outside the plane through the window? AF usually has issues with that due to the glass on the window

Hi all i recently got my grd Iv
I wanna ask if i shoot colour in positive mode all the time instead of vivid, its not possible to customize fn1 to b&w? Confused by all the options here

Oh and anywhere still sells 3rd party batteries for it? I had trouble finding them i guess its because they're old?

Hi shadow

grdiv accepts 2 AAA batteries. just buy rechargeables. get eneloops for the low discharge so even if they sit unused for a long time you can use them.

for customizations, i dont think you can mix b/w and positive film.

you can set my1 and my2 accordingly
example set my1 for positive film etc..
set my2 b/w high contrast.. and then switch just by rotating the knob dial.

But how many shots does it go for triple a batteries? Anyone tried charging the camera via power bank? Im going on a trip this sat so i was thinking of getting some batteries

i don't think you can charge via powerbank.

going full charge on your battery plus the spare AAA's will last you the whole day.

2 AAA's capacity is about a third of the grdiv's battery

based on my personal experience, went around hk for a whole day about a year ago. it was about early morning till 9-10pm my grd battery held up very well.

Thanks! Cause I'll be going taiwan via SAF for a month so I won't beable to charge the battery as much as I want to.
