for a compact camera, and with a newer version out already (assuming the GR is = GRD v), I'm happily surprised that this thread is still active.

GR is a different camera. GRD4 remains the top of the line GRD compact camera ever.

Taken with the GRD4 at Canon Photomarathon on Sat. Jpeg straight from the camera

Personally I don't see GR as a replacement or upgrade of GRD4, each has it's own strengths and weaknesses. Price has come down so much for GRD4, really a good buy now.

May I know what the GRDIV has which GR is lacking or weaker? Interesting price the GRDIV indeed.

Hi, how does one shoot with this camera? Through LCD or viewfinder?

Thinking of getting GV-2, but out of stock at Cathay & TK.

But the viewfinder pricing at $200, is it worth it?

The deep depth of field at equivalent f-stop is useful on the GRDIV (or any small sensor compact)

I used to have gv1 but sold it cos i dun find it useful. I prefer shoot it with lcd.

Thats a big advantage. And macro at 1cm compare to GR maceo at 10cm.

i prefer using lcd since i find quicker n look more touristy when taking street photo

Anyone getting the wide lens for the GRDIV? Any reviews?
I'm still considering...
