Is it a good idea to put silica gel in a dry cabinet? may not be

Why would you want to put silica gel in the first place? Defeats the purpose of a dry cabinet.

New models only have a green LED.

Just bought one today...the green led goes off already leh....the saleman said to turn it to 12 o'clock position, is it correct?

I have the DC on for 3 hrs already and it is still 57%...

i jus bought a digi cabi db-036 too ... seems quite difficult to maintain at 45% to 50% ..

at time it goes up to 60% ... any tips to get down to 45% - 50% ?? :sweat:

Im a user of DB36 as well. As usual, just open the door let the RH goes back to room RH. Turn knob to around 10-11 o'clock. Then let RH settles before u start making minor adjustment. It takes around a day to have the RH stable.

This is what i have done~
Example:
1. Open Door Reset to Room RH
2. Turn Knob to 11 o'clock
3. Wait for 4-6 hours
4a. If RH goes lower than 45, adjust clockwise slightly~
4b. RH is above 60 adjust anti-clockwise slightly
4c. If RH is around 50-55
5. Last step is to leave the cabinet the next day to confirm reading as it will still further drop by a few RH

Can I know when you turn the knob to the red sector, the green led will light up but will go off when you release your the knob (meaning your take your hand away from the knob).
My 50L Digi Cabi is like that, is something wrong?

For me, the green led will light up only if i left my knob at red sector which will give very low RH values. The green led will light up even if my hand stays away from the knob.

So i left it around green sector where my knob's led will not led up at all.

So for your case, why don u call digi hub and clarify~ No harm calling them~

now the newer digi-cabi AD series no more red LED light le.
when u see the green LED, it actually means it's quite high.
for camera best just put to 12 O'clock.

guys a few newbie questions =p...so when u move ard on a photoshoot u all hav silica packs in ur equipment bags??? and if there isnt a need in alot of space issit ok to store the camera and the few filters into a dry case instead of a dry cabinet??

if u really kiasu like mad, den put silica packs inside, but doesnt really help much. You open the bag a few times all saturated liaox.

if not planning to get anymore lenses n accessories, get a dry box. i think $20 liddat.
just simply dump the camera inside, close the box. that's all
