This was taken at the SAM at the end of last year. It is of a painting titled, "España y Filipinas" by Juan Lunas, a highly publicized propaganda piece of the Spanish influence over the Philippines. But staying well away from the politics of it, to me this painting portrayed two women embarking on a journey to a the great beyond, the unknown, the undiscovered... but they were going through the journey together in hopes of a brighter future.
The frame of the painting, akin to window frame, would see the ladies stepping through the wall / barrier to take their first steps of their journey together into the undiscovered.
