RFSG monthly mini - May 2010 "undiscovered"

This was taken at the SAM at the end of last year. It is of a painting titled, "España y Filipinas" by Juan Lunas, a highly publicized propaganda piece of the Spanish influence over the Philippines. But staying well away from the politics of it, to me this painting portrayed two women embarking on a journey to a the great beyond, the unknown, the undiscovered... but they were going through the journey together in hopes of a brighter future.

The frame of the painting, akin to window frame, would see the ladies stepping through the wall / barrier to take their first steps of their journey together into the undiscovered.

"LOST GUARD"

Its a security guard that i caught in his dreamland at Mt Sophia.
Amazingly, he was guarding the backdoor and i took this shot at the front door.

I named it "Lost guard" cos he lost his sense of direction at the wrong door and cos he lost his guard while snoozing. Hehe

I was thinking of a story behind my head while i took this photo.
Like a fairytale when the Golden Face Demon was imprisoned in the thousand year old tree.
Just a thought though.

To me, this corner of Telok Ayer is seldom seen by people. A collection of old newspapers and cardboard, run by 3 generations, including their 12yr old son, a total of 4 people.

As an everyday commuter, one may have long forgotten about the "undiscovered" surrounding.

Sometimes I do envy young children, everything seems novel and awaits one to (un)discover.
