Yeah, shot digital. First time doing b&w on the M9, wasn't intending to but my 15mm shots had a disgusting magenta vignette that I couldn't stand, so just avoided it by converting to b&w.

Nice photos i like it !!! couldn't join as too earlier for me (opps)

Here are some photos I took from the outing... Very hard for me to go "stealth mode" with my extra appendage, so took mainly stills.

owch didn't know it was still that bad on the M9. no choice, need UV/IR filter then. but the B&W works too!

Great shots Envire!

Thank you guys for putting up with the walking (with nothing much to shoot in some instances).

As I have to send the colour roll to the lab, all I have from today is the medium format (6X6) loaned to me by Scandiacus. I messed up the entire roll by mis-calculating the quantity of water. I am still sore about this even as I type this. If you look at the image below, the left side (about 3cm) has a wierd contrast. This is because I 'saved' the shot by post processing.

Delta 100, Ilfosol 3.

my first time using 28mm. At F8, everything beyond 1.5m is in focus. I use AE on my ZI, so no need to meter, just PnS.

i wonder if its an IR problem, don't think so. I think the rear element is just too near the film plane. Read about this issue online and seems llke there isn't a solution, will post an example tot show what I mean later.

I hear that the M9 still suffers from some contamination in harsh circumstances. Do let me know how it goes!

Btw guys, anyone got problem focusing 50mm wide open (1.5 or 1.4)? I find that my miss rate higher than my hit rate at that focal length when wide open. any tips? when its spot on, results are magic. but annoying when i think its spot on focusing when its not.

I use 1.5 and 1.4 for portraits when people pose for me. If subject is moving, 1.5 or 1.4 can easily miss.

Usually if subject can move, should use F2.0 or F2.8

Here are examples of that magenta vignette I was talking about when using the 15mm, oddly it only occurs on one side... Very irritating IMO..

Like I said, doesn't look like an IR issue...

If you focus and then recompose, just the act of recomposition can throw your focus off, sometimes you need to compensate for this. If it's an important shot it might be worth stopping down a notch or two if possible.

The meta data says f4 but I think I remember shooting it at 2.8 (instead of the max 1.1)

@artspraken : darn, that means my nokton really a still life lens now haha

@enivre : wow...that looks pretty bad i must admit. guess i'll have to take into account stopping down from now on...sighs. really thin DOF

M9 requires cornerfix for certain wide angle lenses. This is a known issue. The reason is that the physical placement of cramming a full frame sensor involves the compromise that certain wide angle rear elements will be too close. For eg super angulon is also known to exhibit magenta shift with M9.

The latest firmware fixed many wide angle lenses for M9, but with some exceptions like Super Angulon. Looks like CV 15 is another one.

Go download cornerfix

Imho no need to always shoot wide open.

Yup I was aware of it on paper but had to see it for myself, seems like the firmware over corrects for the CV15 resulting in the magenta corners when lens is manually set to 16mm WATE. I see it happening in other forums EXACTLY like how I see it on my photos, one side magenta.

Will play around with cornerfix but I need to get profiles for it.

One from my Xpan from the AMK outing:

My first humble post up here for my first outing I attended.
It really felt like "thorn among the roses". Everyone are the roses, except myself.
Nice meeting all of you. (:
Try searching for 2 familiar faces in this...
