My vote is for Changi..... think same as RWC. Been to Kampong Buangkok a few times. Each time it's getting smaller... sigh....

As for Ubin, not meant to pour cold water on anybody, my experience was that once you start cycling (we were heading for Chek Jawa), you kinda stop looking for photographic opportunities. Towards the end, our objective was to get back to the bike rental stall with the gear was have to return the bikes.

should be the last kampong in singapore? But malaysia has lots!!! We can venture to malaysia one of these days!!!

ok la Ubin need to trek lor, got to compromise for the vibe, charm and rawness it has! Can book a van for those who do not wish to trek or cycle mah~ which I did when I was there for my two of my ubin shoot... can't really cycle or trek when Im carrying 3 lenses and two full body DSLR... ^_^

These are very useful site, for the weather radar, NEA denied public to access their longer range and wind direction information unless you pay. Malaysia KLIA site is under service.

Take note of Severe weather from South East and Noth West, Heavy rain and strong wind(Wave).:)

Is sure a wonderful outing, I will try if can make it in time.

Guys,

I think we need to define what kind of photography we're going for this outing. Nature, Street, sunset?

Once we define that perhaps it's alot easier to make decision.

Personally, I like to shoot street and candid and RF is perfect for that. I prefers to walk slowly and explore the surroundings than having to worry about cycling or driving.

Reason I chose Location 1 as it's also near to Geylang, where I can do street and also captures some of the old-town vibes.

Just my two cents worth.

Hmmm... I quite worry about cycling with a camera really. I havent got a haversack with inserts.

The kumpong is near geylang?

Hehehe ZoomP, you need your GPS. Location 1 is near Sengkang/Punggol River not Geylang.

actually all locations are about the same... basically rural charm. Ubin is actually very accessible, plus the jetty and the small little town by it is probably few times bigger than the kampong, and does not need bicycle or any other form transportation other than our feet :) and this is not even any where close to trekking...

The pre wed was shot entirely around the jetty area except the last few pictures were shot at chek jawa, where the couple had changed away their school uniforms for casual clothing,

prewedding at Ubin

Where else the kampong is, well the last kampong on Singapore island itself... and it is shrinking rapidly... who knows when it will disappear forever... this alone is a very good reason to drop by this saturday to capture it before it's gone forever!!!

Changi is actually a mixture of everything... run down abandoned buldings... boats and jetty... old style HDB/shophouses...

Tested Hassy at Location 1 with Velvia olredy...;)
 

Anyway, any ideas for a place to rendezvous if we are to go to kampong? ?Not very sure of that area... for Changi/Ubin, Im sure most of us knows about Charlie's Corner :cheers:

No GPS, but it got inspiration for me to be a better photographer! One of my heros, Jim Marshall used this setup but his a Blackpaint that has brassed beautifully with a Leciavit.

Bro, this seems to be the landmark for the Kampong - St. Vincent de Paul church. Believe the location is at the junction of Yio Chu Kang Rd n AMK Ave 5.

Nearest two MRT is Yio Chu Kang and AMK Stations. We can arrange to meet at either location. For those driving, can help ferry the folks there.
