i miss the nx10 compactness to be frank

he notable difference is the size. usually mirrorless is smaller. but take note as the camera size is smaller, functions are less. but usually the basic and most important one are retained.

another difference is the AF speed, mostly contrast detect AF is slower on mirrorless than phase detect AF on DLSR's. take note of this as this might be the main turn off on a mirrorless camera, but of course if you just use on casual use only, why need faster AF slower ones are also good.

Hi by less functions? which functions are you talking about ?

Bro I give up smthing I gain smthing. 550d is a STD dslr, iso nit bad n af actually ok but not say far better la. Wat it win is d no of lens collections I can get.... If nx10 collections of lens can increase more I'm sure it wnt loose out much. Lucky my sister is hAppy w d compact size n she happy snapping her kids around. ;) well nw I felt add on d expensive tamron lens n batt grip, I'm like lugging 3 nx10 w d 18-55mm !!!! Gosh so heavy !!! I miss d vompactnessbif nx10 lol if go holiday I must keh keh borrow frm my sister lol. But one thing la, when u put on d 3rd party flash on nx10 d distribution of weight very unbalanced. Lol but w big flash j bounce card nx10 still take very nice portrait. Oh yea!!! 550d portrait face detection sucks when put on self timer. Nx10 one win big time plus d ooohhh so useful beauty mode lol

Where in the world did you take these shots?

NZ south island.

those three shots are all taken from the car while we are driving. The NX10 + 30mm is actually pretty good for taking window shots :)

set it to f2. manual focus at infinity, fast shutter speed. Easy on the hands too.

How much is the 30mm pancake selling now.

I m NX10 newbie too.
Just bought it last week.
I m soooo happy found this thread here.

Most of saler told me that NX10 better then Canon 550.:D
I felt lucky buy it.

Anyone can advise me where can I get a simple bag for my NX10?

is there a bag made for NX10? My NX10 + 30mm is so small that I just sling it when I carry it out.

If on trips, it get slotted into the side pocket of my big camera bag.

I only use a small pouch that can be slipped into my normal backpack. :)

Very impressive images. Makes me really want to visit NZ.

around $300-$400?

I purchased mine for 450 in April, but prices must have dropped a lot since then.

Haha! I use a regular small backpack, which has a slightly padded pocket inside where the camera goes in. The camera is well built, and I think it's unnecessary to purchase a dedicated camera bag to keep the unit safe.

Will post up new photos tonight :D

Though this depends on your usage plan, the 30mm is a far more valuable investment compared with the 18-55mm.

Here is a preview of the new Samsung NX100. I will reserve my comments for this model right now.

But more lenses for the NX system: 20mm and 20-50mm pancake, plus announcements of 16mm, 60mm and 85mm primes all give me confidence that NX was the way to go.
