Update from my source you need to book in your set for them to check your camera.
From there they will order and replace the affected parts, because a7, a7s& a7r have different type of parts.
Best is to call their hotline before go down.

2. that's interesting and worth trying again since I've to collect my camera anyways. But previous experience from the Sony CSO was a firm nil though.
3. Have written about this on the US Sony Community forums. The same place where the silicon ring fix was posted.
