Hi Pentaxians
I know this is a long shot but calling out to the community to see if it's possible to repair a defective Pentax K-R DSLR.
The mirror assembly is flopping so the viewfinder is blocked while the sensor is partally blocked too.
Not able to take photos in liveview either.
I have contacted the AD as well as some of the shops like the Camera Workshop and they said it's not possible as no spare parts.
If you know of any shop that can do such repairs, please share their contact with me. Thanks again.

ps, I am selling some of my Pentax lenses too as cutting down. Do check out my list also if you are looking to buy one.

You can DIY yourself by watching video.

The solenoid problem. A common problem of Pentax DSLR.

You can either repair the original solenoid or buy and replace with a new one.

The solenoid spare part. Also available on Lazada and shopee

Thanks Bro. Have looked at the videos. The menu solution is not working as mine is a K-R and do not have button customisation. Was able to try the aperture thingy but did not work. Mine is not an aperture issue but more of a mirror flop where the mirror does not stay vertical or horizontal but loosely in between. Will try the magnet thingy when I have the time but I believe the KR may not be the same as the K30-70s series. But useful info for making attempts, so thanks for sharing. :)

Here is the kr service manual.

Although it says diaphragm block replacement it nevertheless show how to disassemble and reassemble the kr.

Hello, I also have a Pentax K-r. I am having some difficulties with the autofocus function and think maybe I should sell this camera. Would this be of interest to you?

Thanks for the offer. No, not interested in another defective set. Was thinking had the AD been able to repair and do a full service, then worth to keep for nostalgic reasons but seems this model does not age well. So will try a self repair when I am free. Or probably just let it go for parts too.

OK thank you. Could you provide a link to the lenses that you are selling.
