My D90 went dead on me last week. There was "Err" on the display. I removed my lens and noticed that the shutter
was not shut completely.
I tried everything I could google. Nothing seemed to resolve the issue. This is the 2nd time it happened on my D90.
The last time I sent it to NSC some years ago, I was charged more than $250.

Does anyone know where can I get a better deal for the repair? Meanwhile, I will be looking for a new DX body, as I have
more than a few Nikon lens.

Thanks.

Usually it's a damaged SQ gear. The part cracks due to age. I get this repair request quite often.
The part cost about $3-$4 but requires a lot of dismantling. The dismantling process is very much similar to Nikon D80. You can search my DIY post on D80 for your reference.
