[ Release Info ] - Three New PENs to add to the family... and more...

Those people who are gnashing their teeth at the new PEN cameras, if they not happy, dun buy lor. They snd like they got vested interest in the company. If oly does not hv wat u want, juz go buy panny or somethg else. Or if there is nothing tat makes u happy, then dun buy. Not like u r forced to buy it. There are also a bunch of camera makers out there like sony, canon, nikon, etc - buy their products instead. Im sure at least one of them will have evf with nice big sensor and great iso performance. That would fit the bill.

At one glance, I laughed out loud... air ticket to the US is more expensive than the camera itself, but then again, it keeps the GF happy...

Guess you opened a can of worms... next time we will all tompang your lobang ok? Ha ha ha...
Hahaha... My GF travels to US twice a month, so its possible, LOL

Chill bro, but I think they got your point.

Thing is, everyone have something in mind when a camera is released, especially when they have been waiting in anticipation for it.

Remember my rant on the E5 when it was finally released? Got me quite cross for three months but eventually I still bought one.

I see... so nice... hope she travels to NYC... Adorama, B&H, every big player is there...

Amazon/US is good enough actually especially when the currency is to our favour.
Surely it'll be a sight to marvel at the stuff in Adorama/B&H but not unless the wielder goes there himself :P
Having said that, unfortunately, the price of the SHG glass that I'm eyeing in Amazon/US is still more expensive than in Australia :(

Thanks for posting this. Looks like the large grip may not be large enough for me :(

some innovative chinese company may just improvise the grip and make it better...S/M/L/XL/XXL...hello kitty skin, leatherette, u name it;)

Hahaha... My GF travels to US twice a month, so its possible, LOL

not envy for her, but envy u haha...if she can arrange to send to a colleague, it's tax free. If buy at the store (B&H, Adorama), there's a 9+% tax for NYC. BBBBBB:bsmilie:

Dude, get your facts right before you start posting. The PENs in question are using completely new sensors, they were manufactured by Panasonic but according to specifications provided by Olympus. I.e. instead of using the same sensors that Panasonic uses in their G-series cameras, Olympus is now using sensors they designed themselves. Moreover all three PENs have the same dual-processors for the image processing which means whichever PEN you buy you'll still get the same sensor performance, the only difference will be the camera controls and exterior design.

If the fact you are referring to is the press release, well.. they can say what they want. I will wait until DxOmark test for RAW have come out.
But looking at the jpegs on Dpreview, its definitely better than EPL2 at ISO 3200.

Happened to chance upon this non-scientific experiment between 7D and the E-P3. IMO, quite mind blowing...

saw the video from ur FB link, amazingly fast...very poisoned...even though i'm not speed freak, it's freaking tempting! Saw another vid of 12-60 SWD and Pany 20mm seem to improve as well too! i hope it does same magic on the ZD50/2 macro, then i will keep it a little longer...

That is rather impressive! It would be nice if we could also see the accuracy of that auto-focus.

That is damn fast indeed. Probably made the haters drop their pants.

This is all taken in good light, can't tell for certain if it's going to perform as well in low light situation (my gut feeling tells me not quite, since it has always been 1 of Olympus' greatest obstacle to overcome). Anyway, this spells exciting times ahead for the m4/3 consortium :)

Also... if they were to implement this sensor/algorithm into the next 4/3 body, I think the CDAF on the E-x may out-perform of what Sony's translucent mirror concept currently work on (phase detect)...

If you consider that the new AF system uses IR, its performance shouldn't be diminished all that much in low light.

I sure hope so, did you read from any source about that being true?
I'm looking forward to a hands-on already!

i still want a purple/pink EPM with the 12/2.0...

Still, getting them to work in moderate light is a huge improvement. My E-1 needs daylight to use auto focus, not that I use it, but I played with it in moderate light and the only result was frustration.

I just hope that what Olympus has done with the E-P3 isn't the final result and that they'll refine their focusing engine more. Too many times, the company thought that they were ahead and suddenly, they were at the back end.

I love what they've done with these three new models, though. It's got me thinking about buying one.
