Buying a 5D mkiii doesn't do anything for learning.

Having an awesome camera doesn't give you maxed out Experience Points :bsmilie:

But it can give EXP at ISO 102,400 which others cannot. Special Weapon special Experience Points.

But the lack of built in flash probably aids in learning I believe

Unless the person buys a flash unit and then always points it directly at the subject. :p

nope, just that when you brand jumping is like divorcing your current ones and go onto next hahahaha

wah kao... i have gone through countless of divorce over the 30 odd years....:rolleyes:

hmmm... what if you have two brands at the same time? :p

Depends on which one you classify as wife and which one is your mistress!
Wife = It's with you all the time. Though it's worn and tattered, you still do not leave home without it. Nonetheless, whenever a new model pops up, you will yearn to try it and play with it.
Mistress = It's like a spare tyre. Whenever your wife is sick, or when you are sick of lugging around the worn and tattered wife, you would bring out the mistress once in a while. But most of the time, you would tend to bring your mistress along with the wife. Just in case on some specific occassions, the mistress is more suited to the role. ;)

Yawn..... always the same topic.

Ya. Am struggling now. The kids shots are fantastic as on ff sensor with L lens its way different from my previous 500d on Tammy 1755 non vc.

But as I move on to landscapes, really struggling with exposures. Trying out the hahnel giga then merging with some hdr software.

Really have to shoot more to learn then buy more gear.

I sold of my cheap canon 600d within weeks of purchase, settled for Nikon d7000.

Spend money wisely and invest in good camera.

Best not to start a brand war/flame war here.

But if you look at value for money, there are many better options.

Well canon600d felt plasticky and hollow, shutter click was like a gun shot sound... Good for the price I should say. But I am now vv happy with Nikon, still an amateur, but no longer a canon fan. Personal preference :-)

Just get the best $$$ can buy, and you will have nothing to complain about any brands, if no $$$, just get a loan, nothing beats a very very very expensive gear in your hands. :) You can do it.

ROFL. Until the next round of very very expensive gear comes out. :p

Err since when I start brand war/flame?
Can't u see I was stating the model is good a not with a question mark. I didn't say CANON NOT GOOD.
If canon is not good why it establish in the market for so long?

I'm not following the discussion here, bit for newbie/starter, do not go for so called entry level dslr, you will regret within days. Go straight to d90 second hand body and a cheap lens, let say 50mm 1.8d, you will never look back.
