Hmmm... I thought I was already on the dark side. Happened quite fast too.
There I was walking in Vivo when I went into Challenger to get an external hard disk and caught the BBB virus. Next thing I remember I 'm standing outside the shop clutching a D5000 and going "my precious".

Episode 1: The Phantom Menace (Just got the DSLR)
Episode 2: Attack of the Clones (sh** got too many lens covering the same focal length....)

It actually went like this...
Episode 1: The phantom menace (D5000 kit)
Episode 2: Long road home (18-200 for more reach. Sold 18-55)
Episode 3: Going the distance (70-300 for even more reach)
Episode 4: To boldly go where few men have gone before (150-500 for the birds)
Episode 5: Attack of the clones (Sold 18-200 and got 35 f1.8 and 50 f1.8)
Episode 6: The empire strikes back (D7000... sold D5000)
Episode 7: A light in the darkness (80-200 f2.8. bye bye 70-300)
To anybody reading this... do NOT do what i did.

Episode 6: Eyes Wide Shut (11-16mm F/2.8 when gotten poisoned by UWA)
Episode 7: A Very Long Engagement (150-500mm for birding)
Episode 8: The Replacements (50mm F/1.8, hibernate my 35mm F/1.8)
Episode 9: The Replacement Killers (105mm Micro VR, sold Tammy 90mm & 35mm F/1.8)
Episode 10: Up (D300s, D90 in hibernation waiting for sales)

Mine's just a one year project by now. Give it time.
But yes, was VERY tempted to just get the nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 instead of the 80-200mm. Figured I'll leave it for the next epidemic of BBB virus.

I hope TS won't get scared after reading these posts....cos it will be way above his 3k budget (but as mentioned, it's a long "project" for many but not for some which buy it like collectibles).
I am not even going to start............ too painful.
