Anyone has this phenomenon?

When I started using, I knew battery life is fast draining. But it is still OK on normal usage.

My usage pattern didn't change and infact, I'm using lesser of the Internet.

But my battery is draining much faster than 4 months ago.

The battery drops from 100% to 90% to 80% to 60% to 20% like in few hours.

Should I get my phone check?

Funny coz that happened to me just 3 days ago! In my case the phone became noticeable warm and the battery drained in a matter of hours from a full charge.

I took it down to Singtel Comcenter and they gave me a replacement set with no fuss.

is iphone a mac product.

Seems you battery cant hold its charge no more.
Just send it down & get a replacement, besides, under warranty I assume?

Your iphone can last 3 days on normal usage??

What do you normally use it for?

Normal usage is surf net 1 hour per day, SMS, listen to iPod. Previously, after this, the phone has 60% remaining at the end of the day.

Today, same usage pattern, and the battery is 30-40%. In fact, I have used lesser than 1 hour 3G.

I used lesser and battery drain faster

did u install new apps recently?

Always installed new apps to play.

I disabled Push Notification.

I never jailbreak my iPhone so, I dun think is virus that are sending out packages that uses 3G to drain the battery.

erm... my daily pattern:

1. internet over 3G for approx 1/2 hr
2. less than 10 sms
3. less than 10 mins talktime
4. less than 10 mins playing games

i think that's about it. if i leave the phone idling and turn off 3G, can last for about 1 week. btw, the wifi is always turned off unless i'm using it.

The interesting thing is, this only happens recently. :dunno:

turn off wifi and 3G and see if it helps. come to think of it, mine lasted not more than a day. charge everyday. if still under warranty they will replace you wif a new fone?

Surfing (wifi, 3G, etc) saps the battery the most. It gets hot after a while too. I've encountered flat battery juice quite a few times, now i bring my cable almost everyday out. Just goto make sure i've somewhere to charge em. Quite inconvenient.. hai, do not know if the battery is losing its charge. sad. :( my previous 2 iphones was able to hold their charge so much better.

some apps that uses internet via 3G (when wifi not present) drains battery fast too. like twinkle, whatsapp etc. :)

u can do this simple test. do a hard reset of your hp (press power button and hold then slide to off).

then dun use any apps for one day. see if battery consumption goes back to normal.

I know 3G, Wifi, Push Notifications, Location Services, MMS all drain power.

But the thing is, previously not as serious as these few days. :embrass:

I will try this. Thanks!

i recently JB my iPhone and looks like the batt life is shortened. is this phenomenon an expected one for JB sets?

This usually happens when the iphone suddenly feels very hot. All i did was to just switch off the phone and restart it and its fine again. Read it some where on a mac forum that there might be some processes running in the background that causing the phone to heat up fast and drains the battery like a thirsty camel.
