Same goes for phones, usage of 3rd party product batteries voids the warranty and issues arising from using these products are not covered by warranty.

Agreed !

i;ve been getting mixed responses...

Yes they are.
Only the affected EnEL3 will be exchanged for a new EnEL3e.
A technican will be there to check the EnEL3 just as u can from the Nikon Website.

Just went down to the Shriro House today and exchanged my EN-EL3 to the EN-EL3e.

There are pasted sign telling us to go straight to the Digital Studio for the exchange and just need to tell our name and contact number to the CSO manning the counter.

I guess that Nikon does not want us to resell the battery as the EN-EL3e box was replaced with a small ziploc bag with the instruction manual.

There were two CSO when I was there.

HTH.

me also exchanged mine to the EN-EL3e today. :gbounce:

I going down tomorrow to exchange mine... Should I give a call them before I make a visit?

I did not make a call before going down but there is no harm calling them. However, the CSO did ask me if I called beforehand.

HTH.

I guess Nikon's battery vendor wants the 1 to 1 exchange to make sure no one try to this chance to take new batteries out to sell .

Changed mine today too. Pretty good deal for those who have used your EN-EL3 for some time already. And like I mentioned in an earlier post, some people will wish they are affected so they can get the new EN-EL3e :bsmilie:

Got my new EN-EL3e Battery 2 hours ago. At the meantime, its refilling its power!

Got mine on Monday. Working fine! Guess the middle contact is the one that provides the battery data to the D70s?

I won't want a change even it's free.

That only means my camera and even life were endangered for the last few months...

There was a post somewhere in this thread that said that a battery that he/she has owned for the past 3 years is also affected. Apparently, the risk factor is not that high.

haha that's always the case, the companies kiasi...

damn I wish I can change.

will it be too late if i change it in Dec? i am studying overseas leh... can't come back till then... scully no more EN-EL3e sigh....

My friend and I bought D70 on the same day at the same place. He can change, but I cannot!!! :mad2:
