what strength? try to keep within 50-70, otherwise will have light problems, cos the light fly everywhere.. photomatix is quite nonsensical

ah, the saturation looks fine for me
i not sure how the new tone mapping works
the old version i use, got histogram when tone map, so i always set luminosity at 0 (because luminosity seems just like brightness in photoshop, that one can do later), then vary the strength to see which one looks more natural, is tradeoff between detail and how close to a normal photograph it looks, then play with the blackpoint/whitepoint of histogram.
then after that go photoshop and continue playing with it. :bsmilie:
