raytoei's mother of all mass sales

Decision time. rather than vpost and shipset.

i calculated everything in one order:

cost $1754.63
shipment to singapore, $297.43
gst at 7%, 122.8241
twenty of us, works out to $20usd or around $25.

pros: simple.
pros: we get it this weekend (!!!)
cons: probably a little more expensive. maybe not.

any idea ? i will pull the trigger tomorrow.

I am okay either way. :)

These are my concerns too. My understanding was the shipping would be based on the quantity ordered. It doesnt work out for me to pay 20 to 25 usd for an order worth approx 50 usd!

If this in how u plan to proceed kindly discregard my order as i would like to pull out.

Sorry for the in convinence

Cheers

IMHO shipping shouldn't be split based on purchase amount, since courier always charge volume or weight. Guys who ordered expensive film in same quantity as cheap film shouldn't pay more for shipping cost since the dimension of the purchased item is exactly the same. I believe it would be very troublesome for raytoei to measure the dimension/weight for each item.

Anyway, raytoei already mentioned it on his first post. So guys, please read carefully.
* we will share shipping and handling by dividing equally the number of purchasers
* the shipping charge will go up if someone drops out or can't keep the commitment

Hi,

Sorry, but I would like to pull out too. I did note that shipping will be divided equally, but US$20 is too much, given my order is less than US$50.

Sorry for the trouble.

Guys,

No Worries, :)

To the Rest of the Crew (whom I have attempted to sms you)

I intend to place order tonite SG Time Midnight.

If I do not hear a commitment to pay or actual payment by tonite 23.59pm
I will consider that we will proceed with the order without you.

thanks!

raytoei
ps. the prices changed overnight, some are higher (mostly) and some are lower.
will sort out when things are self collected.

pps. shall we have a bbq and talk shop or shall i get some models for you to pratice your new film ?

Just my 2cts but it amazes me how some can afford lenses or cameras worth hundreds and thousands of dollars but complain about shipping charges being equally divided and cost more than XX USD. Now you're paying this teeny weeny more to save yourself from the hassle of DIY-ing the purchase. Isn't it more expensive to DIY the order yourself?

Sorry if my post offends any.

20$ USD is still ok with me, but if people are going to drop out, I might think about increasing the size of my order to justify it completely. However, I will wait and see.

hi felix,

I'm also ok with shipping charges up to $20 USD ($25 SGD), and if shipping cost stays the same I might look at increasing my order too..

do advise. tks. ;)

It is inappropriate to allocate the shipping charges prorated base on the value of the items that each buyer has ordered. Simply because the courier charges are not calculated base on the value of the items but by weight / volume whichever is greater. It is also inappropriate for buyer A to pay more for the a roll of film than buyer B just because buyer A film is more expensive given that the roll of film is same in weight and volume.

Normally for such MO with, each buyer has to compare the shipping charges that he has to pay for his order in a MO against the shipping charges if he was purchase on his own. This method of comparison is what I feel that a buyer should base his decision on.

To go even deeper, the buyer calculate the price + shipping charges for his MO versus when he buys alone versus the local price of the items, to gain an even more accurate assessment as to which purchase scenario he want to select.

I didnt really calculate that much about the shipping, whereas i calculated the total cost over the total quantity of my item...after the shipping, a roll of my film costed ard $3.5 per roll...so why not? You wont get such prices unless u decide to buy alot on your own.

And seriously i think its not easy to calculate the weight x cost stuff giving the many items that this MO is going, plus there is no weight display on the items that you are purchasing. its going to be taking alot of effort on his part to do so....the only solution i can think of, is that raytoei limits everyone a certain quantity of purchases and stardaridized it in the MO.(For example, 50 rolls each, no less no more)
He is being very upfront about the shipping charges here...some of the MO done and you will not be notified of the amont and how it is split till the day, the person tells u...

Let me know too if the shipping amount stay fixed. I will be more than willing to add on abit more films.
