You're referring to E-Mount 18-55 kit lens (49mm filter) or Alpha-Mount 18-55 Kit lens (55mm filter) ???

I think he's referring to the E-mount version. I myself had tried it a long time ago. If i can remember, some force is needed but it's able to fix in. However, the fitting don't look secure and the raynox could drop off.

hmmm, ...I don't see how a 43mm filter could be forced into a 49mm thread ...don't tell me you just blue tack on the lens ! :bsmilie:

No....i didn't force the raynox filter directly onto the 18-55mm. Rather, the filter is screwed on the clip-on adapter and then mount onto the kit lens.

can show ur set up?

after turning glass clockwise to holder and stops, you need to counter clockwise it twice so holder sits nicely in lens.

do you have a filter on your kit lens?

The best is use a 43-49mm step down ring... only a couple bucks from ebay.
