Does anyone know of any local retailers selling this? If not, which online retailer sells this and have overseas shipping to Singapore? Is there any Jap online retailers? (Got some frens in Japan).

More info can be found here .

I was also looking at this TC. The samples seem quite good. The 1800 also looks ok to me.

I recall that chenwei has a raynox 1.8x tc as well. Wonder which model is his?

Remembered seeing this in Yodobashi in Shunjuku, Tokyo.

Interesting ... was also looking at this TC earlier this morning ... some pros and some cons ...

Not sure if any local retailer bringing it in, but this guy got it from www.buyeyedigital.com, which I found out is cheaper than www.bhphotovideo.com ...

I did a rough calculation and if we order a min of 3 units together, we could get them to ship to Singapore for ~S$210 or less.

Sounds good?

woah... ur figures keep changing.... like shares in the stock market...

Haha ... sorry ... realised xchange rate is abt 1 US$= S$1.8 so recalculated the figure ...

3 x 104.95 + 36 (shipping) = US$350.85 = S$632

So, per unit S$632/3 = around S$210 ... did I make any mistake?

Yup, it's correct.

Was reading the comments over at dpreview and it seems that the 1850pro does exhibit considerable amount of CA. Wondering if it's really worth it. :dunno:

I guess the B300 is still the best after all. Someone should tell olympus what they're losing by discontinuing the b300 :rbounce:

i'm not sure.. isn't the 1850 supposed to have low CA? it has a larger front element, more times tele, and its cheaper.. sounds like a better buy than B300..

So anyone wants this TC? I don't really mind the CA, from the Raynox website it looks quite good (at least compared to their own DCR-1800).

If we can find abt 3 pple who wants this then we share the shipping cost??

Raynox 1850 is not too bad and is a very good alternative for B300. There's more CA but it should only come up in high contrast areas. Even the Fuji telelens exhibit CA some times.

I'm quite interested actually... considering it's a true 1.85x TC. Just let me read up a little more and I should be able to arrive at a decision soon.

Come to think of it, maybe CA wouldn't pose to be to much of a problem since it can be easily removed using Photoshop Elements (that's what I read over at dpreview).

Btw, any idea how this TC compares to a B300 in terms of loss of light?

dunno about the light loss. B300 is pretty good, almost no light loss..... any feedback from dpreview?

I don't think CA is being easily removed in Photoshop.. the megenta is just being replaced with grey shades only.. :)

CA is not easy to remove using Photoshop. Photoshop Elements is a more primitive program than PS, in that case i don't think you'll get the effect that you want.

Can this TC be stack with another TC?

I believe this is where you got that info from?

In any case, I read about this at dpreview. Went to do a search on the web and it seems that it can be done; not many links were available though.

Another guy at dpreview also mentioned that Camera Bits Quantum Mechanic Pro plug-in for Photoshop can eliminate CA.

Here's another interesting link on removing CA:

Ok, I think I misread; I believe it's Photoshop LE instead. I don't use Elements anyway ;)

it can be screwed onto a thread. so if you have another teleconverter with a front thread, you could screw it on (if it's not an exact fit, you'll need step-up/down rings).
