Hello all, I apologize first for making all so excited. Actually its quite a long story that by now I guess led me to to price so I apologize again for starting it and please dont flame me for it.
Originally I wanted the non-OS version from DDElectronics website. I emailed them and later they replied they dont have stock and will not be taking orders which was crap since I desperately needed the lens. I went to artworkphoto before that but took me 2 weeks to constantly badgering them only to for them to keep telling me they got shipping delays. Funan shope quote around 1900 but that was not in my budget. Hence last resort DD Electronics. Even that I had to chase them. I had to keep coming back to the store 3 times in 1 week to get the lens coz they said the damn delivery never came. One of the trips I had my boss waiting in the car from an appointment so I can collect the lens on the way. And they didnt have it. And I have to explain to him because of the detour. In the end got the lens only a few hours on the actual day before I need to use it (company event). They almost sell me the wrong filter size, 72 when it should be 77. Thank goodness I checked. After testing the lens, I was going to fork out the 14++ when they guy told me the price was 1116 after discount. I didnt believe him at first then peek over to his pc monitor and saw the bill was that. So I hand over 1150, took my change and buzz off. The guy apologize profusely, saying that the reason why the late delivery blah blah and hope no hard feelings. I said ok lah, whatever. I guess now thats why they drop it to 1116.
Thats basically it. I apologized if I send the wrong message to guys like Cowseye & chk988.I thought my deal was not anything unique and DDE tend to change their prices accordingly. I just checked my receipt, maybe they put in the Non-OS price but it stated clearly the OS lens. Plus on the memo of the receipt it wrote 'We appreciate your business'. So again, my deep apologies :cry: . I hope that all understand what actually happen.

I'ts OK bro you didn't burst my bubbles. Instead my friend did. because he manage to get the OS last week for only SGD 998 at DD. I didn't believe him initially because he told me earlier that he's going to get the none OS, 'till this last saturday when he showed me his OS unit with the receipt. I think those guys in DD are a little bit lenient. My experienced when I bought mine was that the lady quoted me for 1300, which I was surprised so I ask her again to confirm then she realized she was looking on the wrong lens. I had the option to keep silent and pay a 100 dollar less, but as a believer in karma I had no choice but to be honest... for my I friend I think they mistakenly gave him the OS when he is asking for the none OS. according to him he later found out that he got the OS after he reached home.
On your case, i think they make three mistakes again.
-First is by giving u the 72 when in fact should be 77.
-Second I think the guy was looking on the export site which is in USD instead of looking on local sites. Here check this site below.
-Third assuming the guy is looking on the international site. the price is 1179, 2% off 1179 should be 23.58 so they should be charging you 1155 just wondering how did they end up @ 1116.

Anyway, anyone have personal reviews on the Sigma (CanonMount) APO 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM? Thinking of buying one in my upcoming HK trip. Any particular shop to recommend? I checked online and found that the price is about SG$1330 in HK. Any shop having cheaper alternatives? Thanks so much in advance!

No, Sigma Singapore will not touch it for free. You have to go back to DDE and ask them about the calibration cost issue. I think you have to send the lens to DDE.

Does Sigma lens come with international warranty? Was thinking of getting it from reputable HKG retail store. Any advice?

both are similarly priced in HK!
I got the Sigma OS version and I love it! Go for it! The F2.8 is really helpful in low light.
