Rating Sigma 70-200mm HSM II Macro & Sigma 70-200mm HSM OS

I'm less likely to get the OS version. Due to the price diff. If i strike 4D then maybe I consider :)

Bro,

When you had gotten your lens, do give some feedback, as I am also eyeing this lens.

Thanks a million.

Not sure which mount are you getting, but they hadn't the Nikon Mount for quite a while. If you are buying the nikon version. Do let us know.

Hie, just got my Sigma OS version..
Sharp copy from SLRR @ Funan, then hit straight to Formula Drift jus now... Was happy with its performance.

Built quality: 9.8/10
AF speed: 9/10 (VRll slightly faster)
IQ: 10/10
Price: 10/10 ( much much more cheaper compared to VRll)

Hey bro, how much did it cost you? From your signature, you are using Canon? I was at SLRR last Sat. and they quote me price for the Nikon mount as $1900. Went to artworkfoto for the non-OS HSM II but they have no stock until now :P . So will be getting the OS version this week.

Yup, include GST is $1901 with 30mth warranty by Sigma. It's a fair price to me, cse Artworkfoto offering $1680 with 12mth warranty covered by their shop. This beast has 22elements, so of difference of $231, to me it's worth paying.

I'm convinced by this thread:

And purchase it with no regrets.

Hey, thanks for the reply.

I can only stretch my budget up to $1500 so I cannot get the lens from SLRR though the 30 month warranty is a good thing. I have already place an order with DDElectronics and they are selling it for $1468, and most likely with shop warranty. I have bought gear from them and so far no problems (knock wood :p) and their service is also not that bad. I should be getting it this Wednesday as I urgently need to use it by Friday for a company event. Does not leave much time for me to 'field-test' it but if the reviews are true, I should not be having much problems. :)

Hello all,
Finally got my Sigma OS after waiting for some time. Got it last friday afternoon and went straight into action for my company event. I managed to get a 'proper field test' of the lens earlier this evening. Below were some of the shots taken at the outdoor stage at the esplanade on the Nikon D7000.

They also sell a 3yr US based extended warranty for $50. You have to get it within 1 month of buying the lens if you want it.
